Surprisingly good quality

I've been using it with headphones at work for a month and so far I love it. The sound quality is pretty good. The volume slider moves smoothly, and there's no distortion when changing the volume or turning the volume up or down. The construction feels solid enough for something that will sit on your desk for a lifetime. The ONLY complaint I have (which is very minor) is that the line on the face of the volume knob had to be painted over; as there is a line that is a little hard to see. Overall

hissing in the headphones. It broke too.

Update: After sitting on my desk without use for a couple of months I tried again and after a few hours my left ear got stuck and my left canal hasn't worked since. The headphones are fine, the headphone jack on the computer is fine. This DAC is broken. Headphones plugged into the headphone jack have a noticeable hiss, presumably from electrical interference, and this is especially noticeable at low volume. I noticed that different headphones have different levels of noise. The overall sound is

The bottom has that kick and the highs have a click

I use HyperX headphones (link below) on my computer. They sounded fine from my onboard audio out, but something was missing. I put them through a lot of sound testing, looking at specs and such to see if it was my headphones or the sound from my computer. I came back with the fact that they needed some amp power for my 53mm drivers. After plugging in a USB DAC/amplifier and switching to it, the sound is just wow. The soundstage opened. Everything is clear and precise. The bass has that punch…

Highly recommended - Amplifier

Very small. Attractive design. Windows 10 Pro and Home automatically detect and configure it on my desktop and laptop. The rotary volume control has a nice, weighted feel when rotated and adjusts headphone and line-out output levels. The headphone amplifier has sufficient power (capable of delivering very loud volumes with both Etymotic Hf5 16 ohm headphones and Shure SRH144 32 ohm headphones). The sound output when connected to the USB outputs of my desktop monitor was overshadowed by pops and

Exactly what I needed!

Because my work computer's sound card sounded like it was decades old, I needed an inexpensive way to get better sound at work through my decent headphones. At $20 this is the cheapest USB DAC/Amp I could find based on what I was looking for. No need for a portable device and no need for a powerful amp as I rarely listen to them loud. In short, this thing is nice for what it is. Clear sound and fairly well balanced on a flat setting. I like to use Bass Boost to add bass when listening at low…

Worked great until static destroyed it

Works great. The 3.5mm headphone jack on my Dell XPS was broken, so I tried a USB adapter. It sounded like crap. I realized that I need signal amplification. So this DAC with built-in amplifier worked great. I would like the treble and bass control to be gradual rather than a 3 position slide switch. Also, I killed him because while sitting in the library, I slipped my feet on the carpet and created a static charge capacity that discharged from my ears. , into my One More Triple Driver…
