📀 Sylvania 13.3-Inch Portable Blu-Ray, DVD, CD, USB, SD Multi Media Player with High Resolution HD Review

What can I say? This DVD/Blue-Ray player is the worst purchase I have ever made from AMAZON. The picture quality is absolutely awful, it only works conditionally and when it does, it's difficult to use and the controls are messy. Not only is it poorly designed, it's also very picky about the DVDs it can play. And for $200? Shame on Sylvania. Should have returned this item.

I have used this product to play Blue Ray Discs and DVDs. It worked twice. The third time I tried to turn on the player, it didn't work. I have followed the instructions to repair or replace the player and so far the company has ignored me. I tried to speak to someone in the company and had to communicate with a lady who hardly speaks English. No matter how hard she tried, our attempts to communicate effectively were in vain. I emailed the company and they didn't reply to me. I'm still waiting…

All four stars because 1) the screen has to be viewed from the right angle, otherwise the picture looks very strange, ie. deep shadows, odd shapes of people or objects, etc. 2) Although I didn't do extensive battery life tests, the disc stopped playing much sooner than I thought when I unplugged it specifically to test the battery. 3) The built in speaker must be very small because even though I cranked the volume all the way up, it was still difficult to hear clearly even at 5 feet away. This device has many advantages: 14-inch display, Blu-ray player with decent sound and good resolution. as I like UK programs which are not available in Region 1 format. One of the answers in the QA section said this is a region free device (from a former seller of the product). However, this is NOT region free, and a few emails later with Curtis Inc. I can safely say that this Sylvania portable Blu-ray player is one of the best high end products I have ever owned. The build quality is excellent. Very durable and feels solid unlike almost any other portable DVD player I've seen. In fact, the entire device exudes quality, from the ultra-smooth working mechanisms to the gorgeous HD display. This device was
