This is a very cool little DVD player from Sylvania - compact design so doesn't take up much space but has a lot of cool features - the DVD loads quickly and also has the usual pause, zoom and resume functions ( so when you walk away - you can pick up where you left off). Okay, then again it's really good value. I was short on money so I went for it. Works well except for two things: 1. If you pause it for too long (e.g. five minutes) it will lock. The only way to do anything with it is to turn off the power and turn it back on. And I mean turn off the power, if it is locked, the power button will not work! Very poor quality! Terrible, just terrible! After 3 months of more or less adequate work, the picture starts to flicker and blink all the time, no matter if you use a brand new or an old plate. Running a cleaning disk doesn't help either. I use a DVD player to play cartoons for my child, so not only does it not work well, this blinking is dangerous for my child's eyes!
