So far so good, I'll update if thing dies soon or whatever. For now, I'm glad it at least has a ground pin, which the original didn't have.

Wacom are no longer official for my 21UX so after a power surge destroyed the one that came with the tablet I ordered this and used it for just over a year before it blew out. I have no other option so I've just ordered two of these in case the thing inevitably breaks again so I'm not out of work for a few days waiting for one. Spending over $20 a year to keep my tablet running isn't *ideal*, but what can you do?

Overheating will make the Centiq unstable. Sometimes it turns itself off, but more often than not, the Cintiq tablet stops working and the computer no longer recognizes it. Just get a real adapter and save time. It is unacceptable to turn it off for a while every half hour of operation to allow it to cool down.

Cable does not fit Wacom Cintiq 21UX. We have a cable that we use on our Wacom Cintiq 22HD that we can use on the Cintiq 21UX so we know something is wrong with this new cable. The blue light on the adapter turns on when we unplug the Wacom tablet and turns off when we plug in the tablet. Brand new, never worked.

This is the second one I've ordered for my Cintiq. I think I should be glad they didn't mess up the Cintiq themselves. Eventually, the first became unstable and flickered. When I got the new one I noticed how much brighter the screen was to the end than with the old one - maybe around 80% of what it was supposed to be bright. Now, after a few years of use, while not flickering, it is very weak and needs to be replaced. I'll probably replace it with a better power supply and plug in my own plug…

UPDATE : here I am again. just 9 months after writing this review, I'm buying my fourth device. I've never had as many problems with these cables as I have and I don't use my Wacom much (yet!). I really wish I had another option. In just one year (purchased October 2013) I've gone through two of these and now I need a THIRD. I don't use my Cintiq very often and it died on me in 6 months or less. These seem to be the only power options available so I don't know what to do other than swap them…

[Update @ 1/7/2016] Alternative adapter I bought another adapter from T-Power, with much more current, same 4 pin connector. See attached two black and white photos for size comparison and specifications. As you can see, this 12.5A adapter is much larger and heavier, similar in size to the original Cintiq adapter (6.67A). Updated 11/02/15. Now I have the second adapter after 16 months of daily use of the first adapter. Unfortunately I don't think Wacom no longer sells an adapter for this model as it's always sold out when I check I don't have an alternative. I reduced the number of stars due to the lack of life extension. This adapter does not indicate its death. In fact, it appears to be fully functional, i.e. H.
