What's available now

The pump itself was fine. However, I had a VERY SAD SITUATION as my old VALLIANT gas oven was designed to use an OLD VERSION OF THIS PUMP WITH THE EXACT NUMBER - TACO moved the electrical junction box forward about a quarter of an inch making installation VERY DIFFICULT made. - I had to get a hacksaw - cut some metal and re-route the wires, get NEW SCREWS (because the old screws were bad on the first try - I did, but IF ANYTHING CHANGES THE MODEL NUMBER MUST CHANGE TOO!

Pros
  • Good thing
Cons
  • Minor issues

Bought to replace an old taco unit. It was exactly the same size as my old unit so it was easy to replace. Be sure to read the instructions and/or watch the YouTube video. The engine must be in a horizontal position, not vertical. My original was installed by a plumber and it was installed incorrectly so most likely it didn't last as long as it was supposed to. Consider buying another one as a spare as none of the local plumbing stores stock these pumps. And when they do, it's a big premium.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

The house has 7 zones with a large boiler. It was observed that there was a loud bang in the games room/bar on a cold morning and the radiators were as hot as other parts of the house. Googled it and found that it is most likely a circulating pump. Turn each zone off and then on one at a time to find the right pump and lines. Ordered a Taco 007-F5-71FC which many thought was easy to install. I soon had a winter boiler cleaning and asked for a quote. He said it would cost $500-600 for parts over
