Fantastic masking tape

I just love Tamiya masking tape. It just works better than other tapes I've tried over the years. Fits well and bleeds very little. Holds well but peels off easily without leaving marks. Very precise cut makes very clear lines.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Tamiya masking tape. I am addicted!

I bought a few to try and ended up going back and buying other sizes and replacement sets. For small-scale simulations, it's fantastic for detail. I still use green tape for large areas, but it can be stuck into the tight corners and crevices to paint the model. Excellent stuff.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Only available in white

Ideal for modeling and painting

After reading some reviews and recommendations I ordered this tape to use on some of the scale models I have recently purchased. High-quality adhesive tape with good adhesion and gives a particularly fine line when painting. I am completely satisfied and will order more sizes in the future.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Tamiya Tape - Painting Supplies & Tools

This tape is best used for masking airbrush models. Stick the tape on parts already painted or not yet painted and rub with a toothpick to ensure adhesion. Then cover it with masking liquid, a primer coat (the same color as under the tape) or a clear coat. After drying, you can apply the top coat to the parts to be painted and then peel it off without leaving sharp lines.

Pros
  • One Year Trial
Cons
  • Crumple Pack

Great deal and great product

One of the best specialty tapes I've ever used. I typically use this to mask off areas of scale models before airbrushing and it works great. The adhesive strength of the tape is such that it sticks to the surface fairly well, but comes off cleanly without stripping the paint or ending my work. Whenever I had problems with this tape, it was always my fault (too much paint caused it to run under the tape, bad primer didn't make a good key coat, etc.). Highly recommend and that's a really good…

  • Not bad

Tamiya masking tape when regular masking tape is too big!

I've wanted to try Tamiya Tape for a long time. I was a bit put off by the price in my local hobby store, so I ordered it here from Revain. What You Get: You get a dispenser with a roll of tape and two spare rolls for just under twice the price of a roll at your local craft store. The tape is thin, medium tack. I've heard of problems with Tamiya tape peeling paint off the model, but I haven't had this problem before. The dispenser consists of two parts: a gray body and a transparent cover. The…

but this tape is way better than most other hobby tapes

I never expected to write a review for masking tape but this tape is so much better than most other hobby tapes. I've used it on Lexan bodies with great success. I'm not saying you can't get good results with regular masking tape, but the difference here is almost a thin thick strip that allows you to follow contours and corner without lifting. (Just make sure your surface is free of dust, dirt, and oils or most if not all tape will fail or show through). I could turn about 90 degrees at a…
