Original no.

High quality audio cassettes are becoming "hard to come by". I have an old 1980's Keocera record/playback deck but no good cassettes. If I move like that, I haven't had a chance to try them yet. But as long as my deck is still working properly, the results so far have always been great.

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Normal offset sucks best on blank media

Definitely not for recording music but I'm sure it will work fine for recording a police interrogation but not for music.

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Revainrating 5 out of 5

False advertising, good tapes.

Received five individually wrapped cassettes, not the sealed 5 pack advertised. One of the cassette cases was cracked and the packaging of the other showed sticky residue. The bands themselves are good too, but I was disappointed that I didn't receive the sealed 5 pack as shown in the photo and description, hence the 3 stars for mis-advertising.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons

Vehicle stops

Vehicles on my tape deck keep stopping while playing these tapes. Virtually useless. I used TDK D90 exclusively in the 80s, there were no problems, I am surprised by this problem.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Unsure

Probably the best Type I blank you can get

TDK's D-Series blanks have always been among the finest ever made. They have great dynamic range and can be pushed into the red (+2) peaks without distortion if you have a really good deck, and they work with both Dolby B and Dolby C. Tape quality is consistent and the output is excellent . . Many cheap brands that are now coming out (like ONN) are making a comeback as cassettes to some extent but be careful with them as there is no sound production like old school types like TDK D., Maxell UR…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!

Probably the best Type I blanks you can get

TDK Series D blanks have always been some of the best Type I blanks ever made.
