Terrible quality control

I chose Teamgroup. Was very disappointed. First purchase from this brand and received a faulty SSD controller on arrival. SSD showed "SSD Disappearing Syndrome” after 2 days of use. This usually happens when the faulty SSD controller is not working properly and is not communicating with the motherboard at boot time. Samsung (evo series) or Crucial.

Pros
  • Sturdy workmanship
Cons
  • Boring packaging

Good upgrade for an old laptop

Price is great if you are looking for a cheap upgrade for an old technology. My 2016 Dell laptop took forever to boot up and load apps like Chrome and Steam. After a 10 minute update, all those slow downloads were gone. If you doubt your abilities and are afraid to upgrade your laptop's hard drive, don't do it. This is very easy and quick on most laptops, and there are probably hundreds of videos out there by different people showing you how to do it yourself.

Faster XB1X Best storage

I replaced my internal 1TB drive in my Scorpio XB1X edition with a 1TB Vulcan G. With so many great videos on YouTube, going through the walkthrough was very easy and took less than an hour. It loads in about a quarter of the time compared to the old drive, and game load times are noticeably faster. It's not that drive's fault, but if you do, you'll lose the flash 4k splash screen when you turn on the device. I highly recommend anyone still using the latest XB1 generation to get this disc and…

Good SSD, right size

I replaced the HDD with an SSD. I have done this many times. When I run the IMAGE install, the system says the SSD is too small. I knew the drive wasn't even 30% full, but I didn't think the HDD was 500GB and the new replacement SSD was 480GB. So I needed more than 500 GB. This SSD sounds good and it was 512GB. The price was actually less than the 480 I had. I popped in a NEW 512GB SSD and everything ran smoothly. I had an extra 11GB drive from the extra space. An SSD significantly increased…

Highly recommended for XBox One X or PS4 Pro!

I connected 1TB TEAMGROUP SSDs to my XBox One X and now to my PS4 Pro. I plugged it into an external enclosure via USB 3.1 and formatted it as extended storage, then moved my games from the internal drive to the external storage (SSD). I watched a video from Digital Foundry on YT testing an installed and connected USB 3.1 SSD and found that installing the SSD in an XBox or PS4 console only showed a difference in boot times of 1- 3 seconds and those extra 1-3 seconds are worthless. the trouble…

Looks sexy but is hot crap.

Q: What do 1978 Ford Mustang King Cobra, My Ex Girlfriend and this CD have in common? A: They all look sexy and fast, but underneath they're slow and full of junk. Unfortunately, you pay for it before you realize you've been scammed. One of the reasons I originally bought this drive was because I looked it up and saw that Vulcan had RAM. It's absolutely the same! Unfortunately, this is an almost identical Vulkan-G. I've been an IT professional for over two decades. This drive sucks! Of course…

Supercharge the power of your laptop or PC!

I replaced a WD 250GB hard drive in an old Toshiba laptop with this drive and can't believe the performance difference of the entire laptop. I use Linux (but it works just as well with Winbloz) and it just completely changes the user experience of working on a computer. I was able to download a free program called FoxClone and use it to clone the old drive to the new drive. Both drives were connected to the laptop at the same time. After the cloning process was complete, I installed the new SSD

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Good price per gigabyte value

Not so long ago, a terabyte of flash storage on a single drive was prohibitively expensive, and for all but large enterprise implementations where high performance is required, reliable storage was absolute Need. This is no longer the case. The price per gigabyte of an SSD has fallen significantly in recent years. They were pretty affordable, I bought 3 of these and they make up the storage for my hyperconverged computing environment which is my home lab. I have 3 hypervisors running RHV (Red…
