Beware of DOA and RAM ERROR

I bought 2 sets of 16GB, one finally worked and the second one is still showing errors. I installed the first set on 3 MACs (Mac Mini, Macbook Pro and Imac), all of them came back with a RAM error (3 beeps). Then I installed it on an HP laptop and it worked, put it in there for a day and for some reason when I installed it again on the Mac (got it) they worked. I finally got the second set (they were ordered 24 hours apart) but this one doesn't work on either a Mac or an HP laptop. Terribleโ€ฆ

The first set was DOA, the second set works great!

I have taken great care to ensure that the RAM modules are compatible with my Mac Mini. After installation, the computer refused to boot. I put my old (2x 4GB) OWC memory modules back in and everything worked fine. I contacted Revain before realizing there was a support number on the box, so I didn't give A-Tech a chance to fix the problem themselves. But the process with Revain was very simple. I confirmed the model and serial number of my Mac Mini, they confirmed it should be compatible andโ€ฆ

Working perfectly: Internals

bought this 16GB set for my late 2011 MacBook Pro. I used 4GB DDR3 and the built in graphics card showed 364MB. I installed this set in about 10 minutes at most. Hardware diagnostics performed without error. The computer manual says it can hold 8GB but after reading some reviews I saw that 16GB is possible. This of course works like a charm and also increased my built-in graphics to 512MB. For $60, you can't beat the performance. It would be 10 times more expensive than Apple Store.

Pros
  • Complete set
Cons
  • Difficult to say

Memory not working properly in Mid 2011 iMac.

Apple memory specifications for Mid 2011 iMacs: 16 GIGABYTE max. The web description says it will be operational by mid-2011. After installing the memory, iMac shows 32G and iMac works fine for a while. It quits and restarts unexpectedly, and the error message indicates a memory problem. I ran the Apple Hardware Test and the memory failed the test. I received two replacement memory cards and swapped out the existing cards hoping to find the defective card. Problem still exists. I reinstalledโ€ฆ

No! Internal memory

I bought this RAM because it was cheaper than Crucial. After using my MacBook Pro for a week in early 2011, apps would crash and the laptop would keep restarting. I thought it was a software problem. I uninstalled all installed apps and only kept the Apple apps that came with OS-X. I have the same problem. I put the old ram back in and everything was fixed. I wasted my time! I'm not worried about money because I created a return ticket, but I really wanted this MacBook to be made beforeโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
Cons
  • Infinitely sluggish
