The power supply failed after 15 months.

I bought this power supply in October 2018 and have used it mainly to test 12V circuits and devices Positives: Seems to be quite solidly built, very easy to set voltage/current levels, light weight read output screens and overall very easy to use. However, after 15 months of very light use, it now no longer outputs voltage (the voltage indicator shows voltage but never outputs current). I saw another browser had the same problem just a few days later. This product is backed by TekPower's 1-year

Appropriate and useful, but not convenient

Appropriate and useful, but not convenient. The current limiting kit is poorly designed. It would be 5 stars if I could install it quickly and accurately.

Electroplating on internal power supplies

As a jeweler I needed a good power supply for copper and silver plating, electro etching and electroplating small items (up to 10 square inches). I also use it as a power source for plugging in small electronic circuits (5V or less). My main concern was the repeatability of the controls. The device works great and I really like that I can set the voltage precisely and limit the current. As a result, I can adjust the volts/amps based on the surface of the item being coated, molded or etched to…

Excellent desktop power supply, good value for money

Tekpower TP3005DF First of all, now semi-retired, I've "made" electronics for over 60 years, both professionally and as a hobby (I always say that to those who let people know where I'm from with these reviews). I have a small (4 foot long) but well equipped maintenance stand in the radio room. On the adjacent shelf there is a regulated 13.6 V 20 A power supply (as well as another one for operating radios in the working position). This PS was designed to work with "big" radios. I also had a…

Great all round DC power supply

Excellent product, very handy in the lab. Multifunctional power supply for many experiments, very portable, with good voltage regulation and excellent current limitation.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Almost everything fits

So far so good!: Internal power supplies

It arrived in good condition and worked great the first time I plugged it in. I used it to power a product I was developing while on the bench. and it was very easy for me to set the voltage I wanted and then use the current meter to see how much current it was drawing before and after adding the load resistors. I can use my previous alligator clips and IC hooks with it. Very happy with the purchase, especially for the price. Disclaimer - I've only had it for a few weeks and have only used it a

Reliable power - good value

Good power. Very heavy with metal housing - speaks for a good transformer. The fan worked briefly in the heat, but not continuously. My VOM DC voltage test agreed to an accuracy of three decimal places. I didn't check the AC ripple, but the readings didn't fluctuate. It would be possible to use a strap from the case to the minus, but that's a play on words.

  • Feels good
Cons

Fan is noisy, but good flow

Good voltage and current regulation, but the fan is LOUD! At 12 volts, if you draw 1 amp or less, the fan will remain off, but more current will begin to cool the fan. It's better to have a constantly running, silent fan.

  • Comfortable

Excellent Quality!: Computers and Accessories

I have read many reviews and I am more than happy with my choice. I wish it had a 0.000 amp meter but that is the only thing I would want and certainly wouldn't charge him for it as I knew what I was buying and could have bought that which had that option. In fact I'm so impressed I might even buy a double unit as I could sometimes use extra volts (60v in series or 10 amps in parallel). For the price you get a great device. Yes, there are better BPSs out there, but you're paying a lot more…
