Cons

Interesting effects and worth $

A pleasure to use and a nice addition to the dozens of brushes I already own, this was a good purchase. I keep these brushes separate from the rest, just like tools. Its worth it.

Pros
  • Only positive
Cons
  • Good for the most part, but...

James in a short bag!

I bought this brush set because of the two grass combs! The extreme tips of the grass comb brushes are bent to the side. They are packed without regard to brush tips. The brushes are useless. Why make a brush with thin tips and then put them in a bag. The brushes would be fine if the tips were straight. seems well done. Very frustrating!

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Weight

Great for special shapes

I use them on herbs and other botanicals in watercolor. Mr. Harrison made them to his specifications and I have to admit they work very well. Of course, many artists write their names on brushes and paints, but I found them useful when studying watercolor, which was presented as a complex art form. These, along with his other brushes, make creating a lot easier.

Pros
  • The brushes have great control and color retention
Cons
  • Slightly frayed

Pretty good brushes for landscapes

A few weeks before ordering these I was looking at the fourth and final one. I'm glad they're in my paint box now. When I got them in the mail they seemed a little stiff and cheap, but after washing off the limescale with ox bile they were softer and more comfortable to use. Two herb brushes are worth it, but the others are fine too. My only complaint is that my hair falls out from time to time, but what can you do. They are good for grass and hair. I give them 4 stars.

Pros
  • The range of brushes allows you to achieve many different effects
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Lovely brush set for various painting techniques

Very happy with this brush set. I've previously purchased a set of Terry Harrison brushes and didn't feel they worked as advertised so I was a little skeptical about this set. Basically I bought a set because I needed a grass brush for watercolor painting and since this set had 2 brushes I ordered one. The big surprise came when I found that I used other brushes as much as I did the grass comb. It also helped that there are video tutorials on how to use each brush, which turned out to be veryโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Beautifully handcrafted in the UK and manufactured to the highest standards
Cons
  • threadbare
