WARNING: Not for the color blind

Luckily my girlfriend and I play exit games together it's the only way to get past this particular game. Other games we've played don't rely as heavily on using color to solve puzzles as this one does. I couldn't solve about half of the puzzles due to the subtle tone differences this game uses to distinguish puzzle pieces. If I played alone, it would be physically impossible for me to get through to the end. The level of difficulty matches that of Sunken Treasure, but what was otherwise an…

Difficult to start

I've played several other EXIT games and this one really seemed to be one of the hardest to start with. and to be honest it never really consumed us because many of the puzzles were too vague and we just got addicted to the game. We got out in the end, but we used a lot of clue cards and decision cards because we didn't really get enough information. It's listed as a 2/5 for difficulty, but I've played the 4/5 star ones that were better put together than this one. I wouldn't recommend this one,

Mysterious Museum was a fun introduction to quest games.

This was our first Quest style game so I didn't know what to expect. We're a board game family, so we've played a lot of challenging and strategic games together. This was quite a challenge for a beginner. I played it with my 3 kids (8, 8 & 9) and on the first challenge we scratched our heads and already used the hint. I thought we were in trouble at that moment. However, once we began to understand the levels at which clues needed to be examined, we started running. I give 5 stars to games we…

Doesn't make much sense.

I played this game with my wife and it wasn't as good as the first two games we played (which led us to the EXIT series in the first place): Sunken Treasure and Dead Man in the East Express puzzles were everywhere and the puzzles were not "intuitive"; they were far fetched and you had to think so outside of the box that you weren't in the bookstore anymore. It looked (I'm not sure if it was) like the company's first game. There was one puzzle that we really liked for its creativity, but the…

Loved it (replay info included)

This is the second exit game I've played. I started with Sunken Treasure and I find that the storyline of this game is a bit stronger. This is advertised as a museum theme, but in fact the first or both puzzles were about time travel. The story is ok, but not great. I gave it 5 stars because it's made for an enjoyable day/evening. My 7-year-old son "helped” me with this. He was interested and followed me. There were a couple of spots where an interested but younger child could really help out…

Challenge and sense of humor

EXIT offers themed quests in small boxes at reasonable prices. Missions such as exploring a museum, searching for treasure, or repairing a damaged plane provide the plot - the need to escape provides the pace and motivation to progress through the game. EXIT games come with instructions, an illustrated booklet, decks of puzzle, answer and help cards, strange objects and a colorful decoder disc to guide you through the game. Games are designed to be played only once. There is no board, no timer…

Don't let the naysayers fool you - it's a great game!

We've done live quests and love logic puzzles, but we're not smart at all. I bought it for a date with my husband. This is our FIRST table quest so we had no idea what to expect. It took us both 3.5 hours to make a hint and we only took it because at that moment we were convinced that it was some kind of bug (there was NONE, by the way. The game is flawless ). Even with a hint, we didn't get it, so we had to take the answer. We got it completely (actually we tried), but we still haven't seen…

Choose wisely for outdoor games

We received both the Mystery Museum and the Polar Station for Christmas. I'm writing the same review for both games, but I rate them differently. We're not used to quests. We made some personal and some home versions. In the past we used the Escape from the room brand, but this year we switched to Exit the game. In the review I will also compare two brands and two games. When you play the "Escape" brand, you have a timer that stops, just like in a real escape room. With the Exit brand, you…
