Very easy on and off - just slide the center between the front legs and the Velcro on the sides and neck - no need around the legs to poke through any holes. Reversible, waterproof on one side (like my Patagonia down jacket) and soft cotton on the other. My Beagle has an 18" neck, 24" chest and 18" back, weighs 34 lbs and size XL fits perfectly. Just received my coat. Seems well done. My dog is 15 years old, has arthritis and weighs 56 pounds. Her neck is 19 inches, the length of her back from neck to tail is 36 inches and her chest was just over 30 inches. The sizing chart was confusing as it seemed to be everywhere so I ended up ordering 4XL and it fits her. The neck area is a little big but I prefer it when it's less restrictive on her. This is a sturdy, well tailored jacket that keeps my pup warm; I use this when the temperature drops below forty. I haven't tried the windbreak side, which is a smooth, soft nylon material (yellow-yellow for this combo). ok, although probably not for showering. Both sides have separate diamond stitching (intermediate layer of padding) which seems to prevent rips, of course they don't rip completely with this design and likely protect the dog from being cut by barbed wire. or with a sharp brush.
