Ok, overpriced. Best in Car Video

Good, 3 stars for the price. The filter works very well, but the price is too high. This is a small coin sized filter with glue and a piece of cloth. The price is what it is and I paid it, you will if you need it. No other options.

Pros
  • Glitter
Cons
  • Mostly good but...

Now I can see well

The front dash cam is critical so glare and sun rays entering the cabin of the car do not help the dash cam to record the details it should. I love this company and am surprised that it was so easy to install the filter and that there were clear instructions on how to complete the process. I immediately saw the difference in image quality and detail. Good job Thinkware.

Pros
  • Well built

  • Safety

night shot. - Auto & Vehicle Electronics

Installation went pretty smoothly and noticed a difference in direct sunlight. Nighttime quality, however, dropped to just under 480p on my q800pro in terms of quality and graininess. I cannot keep this filter installed on my camera. Very bright street signs and building signs are illegible, let alone license plates. Compared to the crappy video quality caused by the cpl filter, I will struggle with a bit of glare. Unfortunately, I like all Thinkware products very much. This one was a failure…

Bad installation instructions.

The lens filter has a cap on each side, one is clear and one is blue. The instructions don't tell you which side to stick the camera lens on, so you have no idea which side is sticky. The blue foil does not show where the guide points for position determination are, as the ring around the camera lens is also black. Once you remove the film, you commit. The protrusions on the protective film are not long enough to be gently held on the lens without leaving fingerprints on it.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Ghost rainbows when there's a shadow

Haven't decided yet whether to keep this filter on my DVR or throw it away. I like the idea, but not so much the implementation. I have a ceramic tint on my windshield and this filter works the same as polarized sunglasses - it adequately reduces reflected glare but leaves noticeable phantom rainbows in the image. I thought I might have a little misalignment, but after double checking, the vertical alignment notch is aligned as advertised. I wouldn't buy it again if it wasn't for an untinted…

  • Fingers crossed

excellent product and read the instructions first!

Excellent product! Aside from adding a lens to the dash cam, this is very simple and easy to do. Just read the instructions very carefully and take your time. Make sure you have a good light source and mark 2 points before attaching the lens. This makes aligning points much easier. I used a permanent marker on the clear plastic lens cover and had no problem fitting it properly the first time. A NOTICE. There is a plastic lens cover on each side of the lens filter that needs to be removed…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • No instructions
