Pretty good security for the money.

Almost what I expected. It would be difficult to cut without special tools, so I'd say it's inexpensive. After all, this is my only option with a suction cup, lol.

Pros
  • Brings joy
Cons
  • Minor problems

Beautiful and easy to use.

Bought for my suitcase Saris Bones and works well. Wrap it around the middle and slide the puck through your torso. Gives my paranoid brain extra reassurance that the trunk won't fall off my car either.

Pros
  • beautiful thing
Cons
  • there are nuances

Fits perfectly on my Thule Spare Tire ski rack

Fits on my Thule Spare Tire ski rack. Since the lock on my Jeep Wrangler's spare tire rack comes loose to attach the ski rack, I used a ski rack to attach it around the bike rack. It makes me feel safer around the shelves.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Slightly torn

It has a decent size puck attached to it

A decent sized hard rubber hockey puck attached to one end is not visible in the photo. This will prevent it from being pulled out of the trunk. I have a Subaru hatchback and I use a Thule trunk. This soft-wound cable is a few feet longer than I need. This is not a problem as the spare part simply lives in the trunk. I could probably lock the switch through the back door if I wanted to. It's long enough.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

A simple solution that works great!

I was concerned about leaving my bike and car mounted bike rack unattended. This simple passive buckle strap ensures my trunk is now securely attached to my car. It was very easy to install on my Honda Fit hatchback and now I'm sure powerful tools are required to remove the bike from the car. Worst case scenario I think I would go to a bike chained to a stand, the stand attached to the car and everything hanging down but nothing stolen! As previously mentioned, it takes some serious tools to…

but it wasn't easy to tighten

The lock worked after driving 4400 miles across the country. One night someone tried to take my bike off but then stopped - I'm guessing they saw this passive lock and my kryptonite U-lock and just gave up. This lock worked well but was not easy to tighten as you are advised. This is probably because it was on the back of an SUV and I had to constantly open its gate to attach the bike rack straps - doing this alone didn't have the 4 hands I needed to hold the rack straps while tightening to…

  • Best in its niche

Customer Service Date: Strictly Out of Warranty

I have had this bike rack for 2 months from 6th June 2019 and one of the cables was completely pinched and could not be tightened or loosened. I submitted a warranty claim on the Thule website as requested but have not received a response. I called customer service last week and was told they have all my information and I will be hearing from the warranty group shortly. Another week went by and Thule didn't answer, so I called again. However, this time they say they have no record of my…

Solid construction worth your reassurance

Better quality than I expected. The nylon covering the metal cables is very soft and I have absolutely no fear of it scratching my car. Time will tell, but I'm optimistic about the installation. One of the photos I've included shows the corrugated metal at the end of the hinge open, but the rubber grommet took some effort to pull back and should stay in place with normal use. The trunk is easy to close with the flat part of the strap. It's also longer than I expected. I didn't measure it before

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Good but not great

Simple (medium-heavy) bike rack protection without trailer hitch

, I needed a solution to fit a different manufacturer's bike rack to my Jeep to replace a similar manufacturer's item that had been damaged in an accident (I skidded in the rear with the rack installed, but not with my bike). ). This cable provides a level of security that deters thieves from cutting through the rack straps and stealing the whole thing, presumably with a bike attached to it. So the trunk is attached to the jeep and my bike is bolted to the rack which offers moderate security in
