Seems ok, case is junk

The case seems like junk which bummed me out a little bit. Where I plan to keep this in my toolbox was with a few other specialty electrical tools that I would have liked to have the case for, which was part of the reason I ordered this set to begin with. The tools don't seem too bad. I really wish that the different sets of Jaws for the crimper had some sort of markings on them so you knew what was for what. I don't much like the feel of the handle on The wire strippers, but they aren't too…

no instructions or screwdriver

i bought the combo kit and the crimper and striper seem like good quality but i was disappointed there were no instructions, just some simple ones on how to change out the jaws or set the tension correctly. there is also no screwdriver included which is needed to switch out the jaws, despite there being a empty space for one in the kit case. i also think the jaws themselves seem to be made of cheap aluminum and will likely deform easily if not careful

Works like a champ and doesnt break your billfold.

Works like it is supposed too. Crimpped several connections, nice and tight. Crimped one connection with different size wires, didn't get a good crimp on smaller wire, figured it out how to handle it and was delighted with result.

A lot of pressure needed to ensure a good crimp

It’s somewhat hard to close the crimper jaws all the way to get a solid crimp. No instructions are provided to explain how to use the tool, like where to position the butt splice in the crimper. The three crimp sizes are labeled in metric vice AWG.

hard to use. hard to change star wheel for crimping pressure

Pressure wheel was very hard to rotate in either direction. Had to pry up the e-clip a little to move the wheel. I won't return it but probably still use my older tools for crimping.

These work better than expected at a reasonable price. I replaced a non-ratcheting crimp tool and don't know why I waited so long to do so.

Looks great but don't fully crimp

I have had very little luck getting these to work properly. They do not crimp fully even with adjustment as indicated in directions. Wires simply pull out of crimp. Too bad I missed the return window.

Works great good for me

I am very happy with this crimping tool. They are easy to use, and do a good job of crimping without damaging the connector. I thought the price was outrageous, but I guess they are worth it.

Excellent tool for my opinion

Well made not a cheap or crappy flimsy crimper. Has the ratchet closure and free release after last click to ensure full compression of the connector every time. Yes its a good one.

Forms a Terrible Crimp

Absolutely worthless crimper, especially for smaller wires. You're better off with pliers. Seriously. If your wire completely fills the connector, then maybe you can achieve a connection, but it's only because any amount of deformity will make contact between the wire and the connector, not because this tool's crimp is well-designed. And it won't be robust. The ratcheting action, quality, and construction of this tool is fine. The crimping bit is not. At all. Buy at your peril. Oh, it does not…
