The glass is real and looks very nice. The base and unlit midsections are resin, but they're not all the same color, which is odd and disappointing. I would describe it as color parts of milk chocolate and dark chocolate. It comes with LED bulbs, so there is no heat problem, and everything works mechanically, and the bulb is stable and reliable. We live in an old Victorian house and this lamp is a great addition. The build quality is obviously well below antiques but still very good for the price. It comes with test bulbs which get very hot, but we immediately replaced them with basic 40 watt soft white bulbs (as instructed in the instructions) and they give enough light for reading. First of all we love the look of this lamp and the blue-green colors. The lamp is very easy to assemble. The glass shade feels a little plasticky, but as mentioned, the manufacturer sends a small piece of test glass with it. These lamps are beautiful when lit. But I am very unhappy because in order for the light bulbs to work, you need to turn on the night light. If the night light is off, the light bulbs will not work. So the entire lamp is basically powered by a switch on the cord that powers the lamp. However, I believe it is stained glass, especially because of the incredibly beautiful lamp when lit. Update: This lamp contains 2 75w bulbs and one 25w bulb. You are VERY HOT in this lamp. You can feel the heat if you stand a few meters away, it's so hot. We haven't used lightbulbs in years and forgot how hot they get. I opted for all LED bulbs and only noticed a slight color loss. I should have no heat dissipation and save electricity.
