I like the heavier size so it doesn't blow away. I can't tell if it repels bugs well and I wish it had a stronger smell, but I like a really strong candle smell. So if you're concerned that the smell is too strong, this shouldn't be a problem.

Works as well as any others I've had but the wick seems too small or something. It burns through the center of the wax leaving about 40-50% of the wax unmelted at the edges. I break up the wax in used buckets and add it to new buckets when they are burning with some success. They had some trouble getting the order on time but that may or may not be Tiki's fault.

Bought these to put in the silent school auction truck. Firstly, the metal buckets cost less than half the price of the candles (not advertised that way at all), the burn time will be ridiculously short. 2. - One of the buckets was so dented that it could not be used with the lid, the other bucket? No handle or lid? They only cost $2 more in a physical store. and MUCH MORE than a real candle in a bucket?!? Send back the garbage! waste of time.

There was a time a few weeks ago when mosquitoes and mosquitoes seemed to swarm around us all night, prompting us to retreat indoors. In a desperate bid to be able to eat outside and enjoy our garden, I purchased several Tiki 1418014 Brand 17 oz. BiteFighter Galvanized Citronella Wax Candle Metal Bucket Silver, among others. There's less wax in the buckets than I expected, but I think burning the citronella really helped.

I'm really surprised how well this works! I'm attracted to insects, I have a bad reaction to most insect stings/bites, and I live in the swampy/wooded area of the Florida Panhandle so overall my situation is pretty bad. I light this candle and put it by my chair when I'm in the backyard and see there are MUCH fewer bugs. (I also apply bug repellent to my skin, but in the past when I ONLY wore bug repellent, I still noticed a lot of bugs.)

Arrived quickly but both candles were damaged. One was dented (sent in a thin plastic bag only), had no lid, had a ripped handle, and had been burned before. The bucket was about half full. The other was mailed in a fluffy envelope with a burnt wick and scraps of wax on the sides. But at least it had a lid. Candles burn well, but I can't wait to see if the half that's left in either bucket will work. Waste of money, too much hassle with returns. I'll just take them to the store next time.

This is more in response to complaints that the bucket is only half full of wax. As you can see in the picture the flame burns HIGH and hot reaching the top of the bucket. This is a SAFETY FEATURE, otherwise there is a risk of fire. However, it was very effective as I was eaten alive while sitting outside this summer. I don't think I like this particular candle for my outdoor patio privacy screen so I wouldn't buy it again. The canister and ONE-wick shape doesn't offer longevity, and the canister is very, very full of soot at the top, making the wick difficult to light unless you want to get your hand dirty by putting your hand up stretch bright. it's going on.
