Purchased to check core misalignment on cylinder walls and wall thickness when porting cylinder heads. The supplied measuring disc measures very well, but is out of place on cast iron and painted sheet steel. The good thing is that it looks thinner than it really is, giving you some wiggle room. Worth the money to check the cylinder block as it's cast iron. Calibrate with the steel block turned on, then toggle the material mode. You will find that checking the calibration block with a gauge with a different material setting will not give a calibration value since the block is made of steel.
