Required to install LED headlight on Ford Explorer 2013

I bought them to give a little more room for the LED headlights in my 2013 Ford Explorer Limited. I could fit the kit into a case with an OEM dust cover, but that would be very tight. These caps offered more room and I think they will increase the lifespan of the LED devices as there is more airflow for the rear fans. The OEM dust covers had to press directly onto the back of the LED blocks, and the wiring could interfere with the fans. That gives me security and also simplifies the…

Suitable for my F150 LED bulb.

I insisted on buying LED headlights with fans that protrude slightly from the back of the reflector dome, so I replaced the stock covers with these. Make no mistake, these caps are absolutely as thin as can be, so you are NOT buying something with the same thickness and strength as OEM caps, but they are a bit more flexible for different diameter mounts. This is the correct diameter and height to convert a 2015 F-150 reflector style LED bulb.

Installed on a 2015 F-150 with factory halogen headlights as part of an LED replacement. Standard H11 and 9005 halogen bulbs, my truck came with very small rubber cartridge caps. An LED is much larger due to the heatsink and driver packages it comes with.
