Not bad for chisels

The chisel needed a bit of sharpening when I got it (what $10 tool doesn't do that?) but it's been doing a great job for me ever since! I used it to practice dovetail making in softwood.

Pros
  • Ergonomic handle design with ProTouch grip is strong enough to withstand rough handling on the job site.
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

IRWIN makes good instruments and this is one of them!

The need for sharpening higher than the factory; However, this applies to most cutting tools. Otherwise it is a very good instrument and well made.

  • This versatile beveled chisel has a large striking point and an unbreakable handle that withstands repeated hammering.

They will become my favorite chisels.

They will become my favorite chisels. They sit comfortably in the hand, the butt plate transfers the energy well and when unpacked they require almost no fine adjustment. They're a useful chisel, but with a little standard maintenance, they're amazing and well worth the investment.
