Unreally cool! on computers and accessories

I have developed a mobile DJ setup. but instead of the traditional laptop setup. I built a mini-ITX system. with the same drive. I have the exact same drive in my laptop. Toshiba Intel I7. compared to my mini-ITX. GAn-H87N (integrated graphics) 16 gigabytes of RAM. i7 chip. And if I tell you day and night That's ridiculous. Definitely if you want an SSD drive. faster to read and write than other SSDs, you need this Toshiba. Compare specs side-by-side. Please don't take my word for it. doโ€ฆ

So far so good!: Internal SSDs

I bought this drive to replace the stock 320GB drive in my mid 2010 15" i5 Core MacBook Pro and damn it's an upgrade. My hard drive was about 90% full and my computer slowly started to crawl. After installing this and booting up a fresh copy of OSX Mountain Lion, my computer flies! It boots up in less than 15 seconds (compared to over 2 minutes before) and virtually no latency for anything I've tried with significant disk usage. My computer is now reasonably faster than my roommate MBP Core i7โ€ฆ

Easy installation, very fast

I chose this SSD because of its low power consumption. I wanted my computer to be open so I could see while riding in a car or bus. Boot time on my 64-bit PC is about 15 seconds. And there are ways to make it even faster. You need to format the hard drive. Windows 7 already has a device driver for this device, or it gets it automatically from somewhere. I had to make the disk "active" and then format it. Here's a tip: you can't just plug this thing into your computer to format it. You need toโ€ฆ

The main thing is fast and reliable!

I use it as my Linux boot and program disk. Load times are pretty fast for me and programs launch very quickly. This is how it works with the Linux program hdparm: Cache read time: 9216 MB in 2.00 seconds = 4611.05 MB/sec. Read time from buffered disk: 190 MB in 0.51 seconds = 375.51 MB/s. sec For comparison here is a WD Velocorapter Raid 0 (Striped) Array

Pros
  • Consumes less power to improve energy efficiency.
Cons
  • New competitors are here.

Great product, best of the internal SSDs

Bought two of these and today ordered the 256Gb Pro which was special for Father's Day. I rely on consistent performance and have third-party SSDs that sometimes seem to "wobble" for a few seconds when all of my processing grinds to a halt in their path. Toshiba SSDs have proven to be excellent and work well. For what it's worth - this has to be my 11th or 12th SSD I've bought (lost counting), the first being the 80GB Intel X25M-G2 and I haven't looked back at hard drives. Recently someone Iโ€ฆ

Fast drive, easy setup

This is a great SSD, 256GB for next to nothing here at Revain compared to other drives. I see the price has gone back up but grab offers as soon as you see them. It's faster than my previous 120GB Corsair drive, as evidenced by the fact that Windows 8 boots almost instantly (I see the Windows 8 boot screen flashing, and the next moment I'm on the boot screen). I say I gained about 5-6 seconds on boot (not much I know, but still a gain), but that wasn't really my reason for upgrading. Thisโ€ฆ
