GREAT ENTRY-LEVEL DVD PLAYER

Received my player yesterday. I downloaded The Matrix and The Mummy and everything worked great! Before that I had ordered another player and it couldn't even read the DVD! It has everything you need in a budget player. I have a DTS amp and the sound is AMAZING! You should watch these films at home. Of course, a fairly large TV wouldn't hurt either. The only cumbersome thing is the remote, but since I'll probably just hit the play button and sit back, my all-in-one receiver will work just fine.

Great Gadget for DVD Players and Recorders

This is a great DVD player. I like the two disc performance of this player. You can put two discs in the player and just sit back and enjoy. It has all sorts of connections you need. Sound is great, picture is great. I wish there were more controls on the front of the player, such as a menu button that you have to use on the remote for all player functions except play, stop, pause, and forward and backward. This playback also reads HDCDs but not CDRs, which are rewritable discs. You can switchโ€ฆ

Poorly constructed, unreliable DVD player

I've had this player for about six months now. About 15% of the DVDs I own have at least one feature that can cause this player to crash. If it is, the only way to reset it is to press the change disc button. Other buttons do not work. The remote's design is poor, with half of the buttons covered by a cover and virtually inaccessible. The skip and fast forward function are combined with one button, to fast forward you need to press and hold the jump button for a few seconds, if you don't holdโ€ฆ

Nice design and solid construction but not the best for regular CDs

I recently bought this from Goodwill at a bargain price mainly to work as a CD player. I use 2-channel analog audio for my stereo and wanted to use this player as my default CD player (instead of using my PC). For HDCD this player is fantastic, they sound fantastic. Unfortunately, normal audio CDs sound very distorted on it. I've played around with the settings, including the "Audio CD Fade" option, but it didn't sound very good anyway. I've heard before that HDCD players are notorious forโ€ฆ

Don't believe the ads! Artifacts, artifacts, artifacts!

If you are looking for a good looking DVD player. looks like somewhere else and don't believe the hype as the Toshiba 3109 doesn't ship the goods. Edges were fuzzy and colors were faded. After another tweak session with Video Essentials, nothing seemed to improve and I was left stumped. before. my friend gave me his sony 550d to borrow. With one word. WOW! What is the difference between the two players. The 550D outperformed the 3109 in almost every way, colors popped off the screen, shadowsโ€ฆ

Great Achievement for Videophiles and Audiophiles

With the introduction of the third generation of DVD players, Toshiba (one of the companies involved in its development) has created a winner. Let me say that this player has features and features that two years ago would have made it a high-end product. To get the most out of this DVD player, you'll need a mid- to high-end home theater receiver, good speakers, and component monitor outputs. While this player looks great with any of its video outputs, you should take advantage of its high-techโ€ฆ
