UPDATE: Poorly made, quickly broken

UPDATE to my previous review. After only a few weeks of use, several of the plastic caps holding the webbing at the ends of the ribs broke off. This means the fabric is no longer supported by those ribs and is much less functional. This problem is not due to misuse of the product and the caps break easily as they are made of cheap plastic and not metal. NOT WHAT IT WAS

This umbrella was purchased to replace an existing vented golf awning which has served me well for the past eight years. and repaired once or twice. searched everywhere for an exact replacement but to no avail so settled on this one. SHORT DROPS: * Umbrella tip used to be metal with a rubber tip, now it's a cheap looking plastic tip * Handle was hard rubber, now rubberized plastic and a sure grip * Locking mechanism is now all plastic Metal clip from the previous version * of course it's…

Spent 12 hours exploring umbrellas. DON'T BE LIKE ME

Seriously, I hate umbrellas and wanted this to be my last purchase. I even got into a fight with my wife trying to spend $130 on a "premium" umbrella. She won and I am grateful to her. The bottom line is that there is no perfect umbrella, so you can buy this one. It is very good. If you think I'm wrong, think again. I've literally spent hours reading articles, blogs and over a hundred reviews. I've carefully studied raincoats, weather forecasts, gusts of wind, daveks, sunny mountains, and silly

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Infinitely slow
