Do Not Buy - Two faulty units

I don't recall ever feeling the need to give a one star review. I tend to either give five stars or not leave a review but I have never had such a terrible experience with this expensive item. This router broke 33 days after original purchase, Revain did not replace it as it broke after 30 days. It took 4 days to finally get a return authorization from the manufacturer and then 3 weeks to get our replacement router under warranty. Less than two weeks later, a new router arrived, which brokeโ€ฆ

  • As everything so far

Died before setup was complete

I bought two of these to replace routers on 9 networks I service. Both passed the return window. I only buy TP-Link and have been happy with their products so far. I unpacked one and for a while it worked like lightning. It was about an hour into the test. Now it only flashes the power light and sometimes other lights flash along with it. The reset button does not work, nothing affects its cycle. Then it suddenly worked for about 5 minutes and went back to a blinking power light. Looks like itโ€ฆ

Unreliable product for computers and accessories

UPDATE 10/11/19: See my TP-Link answer below. What are we looking for in electronics these days? Products we can rely on. TP Link Archer A20 is not like that. Installed in mid-July. It was easy to set up and everything worked as expected. It is now early October. The device no longer works. Just literally stopped for no apparent reason even though the power is still on. I tried turning the power on and off and it didn't work. 3 hours off and on again. Great, some goblin, I thought. it wasโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Reliable network throughput on a busy family network

This router is great for my family's home use. Setup is beyond easy, and in less than 5 minutes, three wireless SIDs are running on the same connection with smart connectivity as well as guest networks. Smart Connect provides seamless routing of connections and transparently balances network loads across Wi-Fi transceivers. The included speed test shows the router running at the maximum bandwidth provided by my ISP with over 20 wireless home computing devices, including streaming tabletsโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Worked great - a few days

This router seemed fantastic at first. I connected it to my AT&T UVerse and set all my devices to use it. Everything worked much faster than on the AT&T provided router. However, this week when I tried to connect my PS4, the PS4 kept saying it couldn't connect to the WIFI network. I restarted the PS4 and got the same message. After restarting the AC4000 router, the PS4 was able to connect to WiFi, but the speed was so slow that I couldn't do anything. Just trying to browse the Playstation Store

Fantastic Signal: Router

First image: Speed test using a Wi-Fi router Spectrum gave me. Second image: speed test with TP-Link AC4000. I paid for the best internet connection from Spectrum, only with an ethernet cable connected to my computer was I able to get the internet speed I paid for. This was due to a low quality Wi-Fi router provided by Spectrum. The TP-Link AC4000 is just amazing. I've been using it for more than a month, I haven't noticed any problems with Wi-Fi. My 2018 Macbook had problems with my previousโ€ฆ

Needs replacement within 1 week

This Archer AC4000, Archer A20, V1.0 router was easy to set up. I was set up in about 20 minutes from unboxing to speed testing. I set up and tested the speed on 3 other devices in about 15 minutes. It's large, about 8 inches square and about 4 inches from the table to the top of the antennae. They recommend wall mounting for better coverage. It worked great for a week. There was a thunderstorm, then I had problems. The first problem seems to be: 1) Port 1 of the router connects to my laptop 2)

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Something's wrong
