I used it to raise and lower the game feeder so I could fill it and set the timer. It holds a ton of 1/8" cables and is easy to install. I had to lengthen the holes so it would fit a 2" square tube.

This is a very good product and good value for money. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it only has pre-punched holes for 1 horseshoe bolt. It would be nice if it had holes for a second horseshoe bolt so both ends of the winch could be clamped around the bar.

I bought these to replace an equally rated Harbor Freight winch that was a piece of junk. I took the cord from that winch and put it on top of that. The quality of it that is so immediately apparent. . It seems very durable and hooks very strongly. Much better value for money.

I needed an inexpensive ratchet winch to raise and lower my bird feeder, which is a pole and mast mounted 15 feet off the ground. The feeders hold 25 pounds of seed and are supported by a braided stainless steel aircraft cable. This winch makes lifting and lowering large and heavy containers much easier and safer.

Note this is a single speed winch with no brake and know the difference between a brake and a ratchet. It has only a ratchet closure, no braking system. When you flip the lever, it goes into freewheel mode, instantly dropping the load if you don't secure it. Ideal for horizontal loads/pulls. I can switch to a brake winch so I don't accidentally drop the load.

This is a heavy duty winch. It easily holds 50ft 3/16" winch cable, can probably hold 65ft. Item arrived ahead of estimated delivery date even during Covid-19 thanks to Revain shipping department! Unit runs quietly with no binding and has a nice, easy to use ratchet mechanism.It is not awkward to use and operate.The winch drum bolt is grade 8.8 and the unit takes up the winch strap as described.If I need another one I would not hesitate to buy again.

Honestly, I don't know how they make money from this. I bought this for my deer skinning station which is hitch mounted. I can easily pick up a white ponytail with one hand. The crank is very smooth-running, the spool is large enough to wind up a whole bundle of steel cables. The only thing I found is that the installation instructions for the small clamp that holds the steel cable are reversed. The bolts go in the spool and the nuts go out. This way the wire doesn't get caught when you turn it

Replaced the stock trailer winch after only half a season as the factory winch design was complete crap. The winch belt holder is bent and almost sheared off, and the gears are piled up (riveted with stamped sheets) from already separated scrap metal. This one is painted (which I like) and the gears are solid one-piece versions. The spool allowed a larger bolt to be used for the strap retainer, and the bushings are clean and tight.
