Description of πŸ”₯ High-Speed Transcend 1TB NVMe PCIe Gen3 X4 3,500 MB/S 220S 80mm M.2 Solid State Drive (TS1TMTE220S): Unleash Blazing-Fast Performance!

Transcend's PCIe SSD 220S follows NVMe 1. 3 and utilizes the PCIe Gen3 x4 interface, meaning four lanes are used for transmitting and receiving data simultaneously, resulting in compelling performance of up to 3, 500MB/s read and 2, 800MB/s write. Pcie (or PCI Express) is a much faster interface than SATA (or Serial ATA) for connecting a host computer to solid-state storage devices over one or more lanes consisting of one transmit and ONE receive Serial interface in each lane, meaning it can better fulfill new performance requirements. Nvme (or NVM Express) is a host controller interface Standard designed to address the needs of Enterprise and client applications that utilize PCI Express-based solid-state storage. Nvme calls for better performance vectors than AHCI (advanced host controller interface), including scalable bandwidth, increased IOPS, and low latency. Transcend's PCIe SSD 220S is engineered with LDPC (Low-Density Parity check) coding, a powerful ECC algorithm, to keep data secure. Manufactured with high-quality 3D NAND Flash chips, and engineered dynamic thermal throttling mechanism, The PCIe SSD 220S s superior endurance and stability for high-end applications. Transcend SSD scope is advanced, user-friendly software that makes it easy to ensure your Transcend SSD remains healthy, and continues to run fast and error-free by determining the condition and optimizing the performance of your drive.

I bought this SSD because it has a higher write tolerance than many other drives in this price range. The only caveat I want to make is if you plan on using virtualization in your home lab like I did and be prepared for a few extra steps before VMware ESX 7 recognizes the drive.

Pros
  • Transcend PCIe SSD 220S is NVMe 1.3 compliant and uses a PCIe Gen3 x4 interface, meaning it uses four lanes to send and receive data simultaneously and delivers unmatched performance from up to 3500MB/
Cons
  • returns error

drives in the capacity/price class. The only caveat I want to make is if you plan on using virtualization in your home lab like I did and be prepared for a few extra steps before VMware ESX 7 recognizes the drive.

Pros
  • The Transcend PCIe SSD 220S is designed with LDPC (Low Density Parity Check) encoding, a powerful ECC algorithm to ensure data security. Equipped with high-quality 3D NAND flash memory chips and a specially designed dynamic thermal management engine, the PCIe SSD 220S offers excellent reliability and stability for high-performance applications
Cons
  • almost never

A good product at a good price, I advise you to try it.

I needed a 1 TB SSD in a laptop (i5 10210U), an old disk, 256 GB, is very small for me. I looked at the reviews, I decided to take this one because of the reliability and supposedly low heating and, accordingly, energy consumption (autonomy is important for me). I inserted the SSD into the laptop without problems, the system recognized it, installed Win 10, office, small programs. I measured the speed characteristics of CrystalDiskMark, everything is like in a pharmacy - 3500 MB / s, 3200 MB /…

Pros
  • I don’t even know, probably the total number of bytes written is 2200 TB. And that is what is stated.
Cons
  • Lies about features
