It's hard to comment on the effectiveness of the septic treatment until we do our tank maintenance again. I will say that this product is very comparable to other big brands that we have used before. The grains are roughly the same size and color. "Knocks" or medication packets are self-absorbing. They throw one in the toilet, let it dissolve, and then flush it.

This is one of those products that you don't really know if it works or not. It's going down the drain and you're keeping your fingers crossed that it helps somehow. I can say that it is easy to use and does not clog the drain. We try to keep our septic tank in good condition and working as well as possible. This is a step for us to try to make it.

For several years I have had intermittent blisters and bad odors from bathroom fixtures. Lately the bad smells have gotten worse. This septic treatment was easy to use; Simply toss one of the sachets down the toilet, leave until the packaging dissolves, and flush. The instructions say to give it a "full flush," whatever that means. I figured 3 flushes would be enough (I have a water saver). This seems to have caused bad smells. They recommend using this product once a month and I think I will.
