The best router for the money!

I'll start this review now by saying that I'm not a networking expert. I hope this review is clear and helpful for those of you who are also a bit confused about which router to buy. First let me say that I love this router. That's the best $120 I've ever spent. I've had it for over 7 months now and it has never broken and works very very fast. I'm a student and need reliable and fast WiFi. Before making this purchase, I did a lot of research to find out which router could offer me speed andโ€ฆ

I have used many Linksys/Cisco routers in the past but due to overheating and replacement issues I have tried to find something else. Reading reviews online, the AC1900 turned out to be a top contender, with all the features you need today and in the future at a great price. The router arrived and I unpacked and plugged it in. TrendNet TEW-818DRU Much Better with DD-WRT Firmware

The TrendNet TEW-818DRU is an AC-1900 Dual Band Wireless Router made in Taiwan and equipped with a Broadcom (Dual Band) equipped with a chipset. 800 MHz core), 128 MB RAM and 16 GB Flash, three internal antennas, four Gigabit Ethernet ports and one WAN port, one USB 2.0 port and one USB 3.0 port. It's affordable and has modest claims. The router was tested with the original firmware, which remains buggy, slow, and simple. However, TrendNet encourages open-source DD-WRT compatibility. TRENDnet TEW-818DRU AC1900 - Wireless Connection Problems

Came in first, set up, seems to be working fine. It didn't even take a week for everything to go wrong. Both wired and wireless connections kept dropping. When I tried to log into the router, it logged out in less than a minute, requiring me to log in again. After a while it just shows me a screen saying it's a mini server and asking me to download the firmware. To make sure it wasn't a problem for me, I plugged my old TEW-672GR back in and everything worked again with no issues. RMA. Sent (atโ€ฆ
