My not the cheapest 10Gbe network card, but it works!

So at the time of my purchase this card cost a little more than a bill. There were other options from Asus, ALFA, TP-Link and Rosewill to name a few, they are all cheaper than the TrendNet card (Rosewill is the cheapest) and some of them might even use the same Marvell AQTion controller but for me, I just trust TREDNet a little more and it's the 3rd version of the network adapter so I hope these guys fixed some bugs. me 10gbe wiring: I use my existing Cat6. Runs are much shorter than the 50m…

only window. and only when the moon is right

From what I've seen on the web, trendnet likes to crash under any load. But I couldn't even go as far as to confirm it because I couldn't even install the map. And when I call your customer service, the last thing I expect is someone snoring on another line. No kidding, the support guy was sound asleep. I had to yell into the mic to wake up the poor guy. When he finally regained consciousness I asked him if there were any drivers or anything for Linux and he bluntly said "No, it's only for…

A big step up from 1GB

I bought some 10GB RJ-45 cards a few years ago and finally got around to writing a review as I'm about to order another one. I believe the cards I got back then were revision 2 cards, currently probably revision 3 (but don't quote me on that). Revision 2 cards were not automatically installed by Windows 10 - I had to download the driver from Trendnet. I don't know if v3 cards are installed automatically. I use it on my home network connected to a 10 gigabit switch to keep My Documents and other

Linux/Windows Issues No Errors

I originally bought this for my NAS with OpenMediaVault (Debian based). Try as I might, I couldn't install the drivers, although other reviews mentioned that they were able to get it to work on such systems. The problem is that at the time of purchasing the card, OpenMediaVault was running on kernel 4.19, which is currently unsupported (4.6+). Even an attempt to manually hit the driver failed to result in recognition. Linux support seemed a bit lacking and I only got the drivers from support. I

DO NOT buy this card!

Place this card in a 5950x stable system from a month ago. It was recognized by device manager, the drivers were installed, but there was no connection activity. I reinstalled the card, deleted the drivers, used the provided drivers and manufacturer, reset the slot from pci4 to 3, nothing helped. Then came the BIG problem! I tried the map on my server, same problem! After removing the card, none of the systems booted. Cleared CMOS and entered bios. Long story short, after hours of…

Easy installation: just plug into a free PCIe x8 or x16 slot.

Easy to install, wired connection and you can connect computer to computer if you don't have a switch let's say you have one of those 30 slot 45 drive cases and managed to accumulate and eventually lay Insert enough drives to run a decent series of raids. Well this card fit in the slot so well it held everything from my old i7-6700k which I used for Plex Media and FX-8350 that I tested it and it almost connected and transferred 220TB movies with it about 300 MB/s. I hate wasting my Blu-rays and

This TEG-10GECTX card, despite its description, does not support Linux

T/NBase-T Ethernet Adapter [1fc9:4027]". According to Tehuti's website, it contains a TN4010 chip as a media access controller and a Marvell Alaska X 88X3310P transceiver. This card is not fully recognized by any mainstream Linux 5.6.5 kernel driver. (There is a "Tehuti" driver, but it is for some older cards.) Tehuti has been shipping these cards for at least 2017 and yet they haven't bothered to provide a supported driver for the Linux kernel, however the description of this card which is…

Painful installation but works as expected

Comes with drivers on a CD first. I went to the site to download the installer. There is no real problem. I received the Windows10 installer, but despite claiming that the installation was successful, none of the installed products in the .inf file matched the board that came in the box. Instead, it was a universal driver installer from the chipset manufacturer. TRENDnet didn't even show up in the map list. The CD version didn't work either. I gave the card three stars because I got it working…
