Really nice 19 " rack mount power supply

I have some ham radio gear. I bought this power supply to mount in a 19" portable rack that I use for power. The device requires AC power to operate the DC power supply and the laptop computer. This power strip had multiple outlets facing outwards and inwards. I use outward-facing outlets for the laptop and inward-facing outlets for the DC power. It fits easily in a 19" rack. Then I more or less neatly connected the DC power supply. The laptop connects when needed. Shutting down is a good…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

Bracket screws too weak

Everything about this unit meets my needs. However, if you need to realign the mounting bracket, problems can arise. The screws are very small Phillips pan head mounting screws that can be as large as Phillips #0. This is the size you would expect in a computer case, or even to hold the power strip case itself together, which it does. The problem is these bracket screws come so tight from the factory that they're sometimes difficult to remove, and two tiny screws on each end for a nearly Β£5…

Two levels of protection

This surge protector has two groups of outlets. The first group has basic surge protection and the second group has surge protection and noise filtering. There are indicator lights to let you know if you're protected, a circuit breaker, and a concealed power button so you don't accidentally turn off your systems by pressing the button. The image shown on the Revain is actually two units, one on top of the other to show the front and back. There are two convenient sockets on the front panel, on…

Convenient rackmount option

I needed a splitter for my new 15U server rack and preferred the rackmount splitter. I originally bought a competitor's strip but ended up returning it as it wasn't UL approved. I feel more comfortable having UL-approved electrical equipment in my home. So far this has worked well. I connected it to my UPS and attached it to the back of the rack so the power cords weren't visible. It offers plenty of outlets for my various devices. However, plugging plugs into outlets can be a bit tricky. I…

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • Available in white only

Overview applies to model DRS-1215 - 15Amp Power Strip with Surge Protection Please see the images of the internal device. The strengths are that the case itself is very nice. that's really all I bought it for. The sockets are also of very good quality. The main switch is quite wobbly and wobbly, though. I'll gut it and put switches in place of the front outlets, upgrade the rear outlets and rewire with Romex solid copper. So basically all I needed was something with Edison duplex style front…
