🚪 TruXseal Universal Tailgate Seal: Ultimate Solution for Universal Fitment with 1703206 Compatibility Review

I installed a tailgate seal on my 2015 F150 after installing the trunklid. A few days later I took my truck to the car wash. NO WATER got into the bed of the truck! Seals great!

The gap at the top of the GM tailgate is too big to close. I know GM started this for fuel economy reasons, but you need a different type of gasket.

We ordered this because it was labeled a 'universal accessory' which I think means it will work on any truck. The glue didn't stick, and once it got a little warm (I mean just a little warm) the glue didn't stick. When the tailgate was opened, the entire lower part was torn off and half glued to the tailgate and half to the body of the truck. I ended up having to remove all of the filling. I do not recommend this item for Ram Trucks.

I bought this to keep dust off the body of my 2021 Tundra. I am carrying luggage and groceries and when I get home everything is covered in road dust so I decided to give it a try. It is very spongy and gets sticky. I had to cut off a small piece but it was a shame to rip it off. I used scissors to cut the product, very easy. When closing the tailgate, I have to use more force than before installing the seal. It looks like it will work. Definitely recommend the product.

I've seen some bad reviews, people have complained about poor sealing so I was very careful with the install. I didn't do anything other than the recommended setup but added additional small pieces to cover up small gaps visible at the corners and ends. I drive a lot off-road and dirt roads, before the body of my truck was soaked with mud after every ride, now it's gotten a lot better. Now it's not 100% dustproof but at least 99%. I bought this because I live on a gravel road and have a truxedo cover. Installation was easy but I have a sprayed base and while the adhesive sticks really well I had trouble getting it along the underside where I wanted it. I bought a second one and mounted the bottom seal to the top. below from what the directions show due to where my sprayed bed pad ends up at the end of the bed. Excellent product. High quality glue. The only caveat I would like to make about this product is that they offer more things than you need to install it the way they suggest. However, I noticed gaps in the tailgate in other places on my Ram 2500, which were not repaired during installation. I'm so glad I saw this item on the Truxedo website. First, unlike most self-adhesive products, this one really sticks. But more importantly - and I haven't had a chance to "test" it in the field yet - it should isolate the dust buildup I've experienced without it.
