Garlic and ginger are not suitable.

Perfect for garlic and ginger, but not great for zest. Easier to clean than you think. Super cut on my little spice rack next to the stove.

Very very very small☹️😩

In the picture it looks more than twice the size it actually is. Very disappointed but the thickness and quality are good but I really wanted a much bigger grater. There is already one in this size.☹️

Pros
  • Looks good
Cons
  • Damaged

great for ginger tea

I first saw this in Japan and was surprised to find it here. I absolutely love the design. The size of the grater is perfect for brewing a cup of fresh ginger tea. You can dip the whole grater into the mug so the remaining ginger paste will dissolve in the water. Forget about using it as a cheese grater.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Very high quality. the best in kitchen and dining room

people don't seem to know what they are buying in this case. This is a ginger/wasabi grater. It is flat with no holes and fits in the palm of your hand. It's a 360 degree grater that allows you to rotate the roots and make a paste. Apart from the obvious, it is of very high quality. I also use it to quickly grind up whole nutmegs and other spices when I just need a pinch.

Pros
  • fingers crossed
Cons
  • almost everything is fine

It's tiny but it's exactly what I was looking for

It's a bit pricey for what it is (significantly cheaper in Japan) but. import and such. Quality wise it's great, I use lime zest/yuzu and the like for sushi in my job. It's just amazing to use compared to the cheaper one we used at work. The copper guard makes the teeth sharper and looks significantly more durable than the tin steel we had.

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • So far so good

Buyers ATTENTION, this grater is very small.

I had 2 of these graters my mom bought for me in Japan. Somehow I didn't put them there. You won't usually find this type of grater in an American store. The nearest Asian market is a few hours away so I decided to order this. BUT, if you are considering buying this, BUYERS BEWARE, this grater is very small, 2 1/4" x 4" and expensive. It almost looks like something you could attach to a keychain! Ginger graters look like this grater but are usually larger and not as expensive.

Pros
  • handy thing
Cons
  • not reliable

A smaller grater like this lets you work in a smaller size.

This grater is very small. I don't know what I was expecting, but it looked bigger in the photo! Having used it a few times I can now fully appreciate its size and realize that instead of a much larger grater that would scatter garlic or ginger all over the place when I grate it and which would be harder to clean, a smaller one Grate something like this forces you to work in a smaller area. This keeps grated/chopped ginger and garlic in a smaller area, making them easier to harvest. Unlike the…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • It worries me
