won't hold what it says

it says it can take up to 35 pounds of pressure and the door weighs about 10 pounds and can't even hold on because it slams so fast.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • I don't remember

Long handles are good for equipment

Would give five stars if installation instructions were included. When it comes to lid stops, positioning matters. I played around with the layout a bit and was able to do it with no extra holes in my tack box.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • High price

Ideal for soft-closing baby toy chests.

Only Hiccup has attempted to get measurements from the top edge and backboard (so it fits completely and flush). Some instructions would be nice. But I found out, and my granddaughter's toy box won't slam shut.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

move on to another option

Supplied screws break rendering current position unusable or missing a mounting point. There is no guide, not even a bad one. I finally managed to find enough random screws and they don't even offer the soft close that I bought them for. They're cheap for a reason.

Pros
  • Good value for money
Cons
  • Some issues

Poor quality screws

The hinges themselves work great but the screws are on the other side. They all broke trying to insert a screwdriver and the site had to be relocated as the screws could not be got out of the holes as the heads twisted instantly. If you buy this, you'd better have your own screws to avoid this mishap.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • You could have chosen a newer model

5 stars for shipping, but the screws are small, short, soft junk!

Easy to assemble = NO, instructions quality = none, strength = we'll see! Like many others, no measurements and instructions are lame. Luckily I had an OE sample (but broken) with mounting holes/screws. Without him there would be PITA. It's a good thing they had dual legs instead of single legs like the OEs because the lighter gauge and crappy bolts would likely fail quickly. Operates a heavy toy box lid, but time will tell if that equates to $2/13 1/9 OE.

Pros
  • Nicely packaged

No cabinet hardware instructions

No installation instructions. It took a bit of fiddling to get them to fit properly. I attached the top of the breast open at an 85 degree angle and used an awl to mark 1 and 1/16 inches from the top of the back of the breast. Here the upper screws of the lower part of the lid support were used. All other screws were inserted where they naturally went. I'm glad I used two 20" x 40" pine lid supports because one won't hold the lid open. I also used these doorstops as extra protection to keep the

Good hinges but lack of installation specs and poor screws

Like other reviewers, I was a little annoyed that no installation specs came with it. These types of hinges need to be installed accurately to work properly. In this case, the top opening of the main body should be 1-1/16 inches from the top of the board it is mounted on. The arm attachment dimension depends on the desired opening (90 or 105 degrees). Using the specs for similar hinges, I was able to install them correctly, but not with the screws provided. Looking at them, it was easy to see…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Don't really like it, everything is fine

Still no instructions (also not online)! Some people need them!

I encourage buyers to listen to other reviewers who have said they need instructions. I'm not sure why I didn't do it. I thought I could find her online. I could not. I looked at her 20 times trying to understand. I just didn't get it. asked my husband. He had an idea how to attach them but wasn't sure but noticed they were too stiff for the trunk I need them for. After asking a handyman friend whose librarian's wife had (unsuccessfully) searched the internet for instructions, the friend agreed
