Used on 98 F250, lasted 3.5 years with moderate use. Now it's loud and it takes a few love tips to get started. That the battery is longer than your starter doesn't bode well for this part. Will switch to another brand.

Definitely the best starter I've ever had. I knew it was great because the price was lower than shipping. to find out what I'm going to do with it since I don't have a car. If I do that, I might know what to do with the alternator.

Bought to get my F150 back on the road. Good starter, starts with no problems. It seems to have a lot more torque than my old one, although frankly it failed. You saved about $100 compared to the parts store in town, so give it a try.

'97 F150 4.6L Ordered this as a late winter replacement - not sure if my starter was dead but wanted it handy to have.
