GARBAGE --- STOP!

GARBAGE --- HOLD UP! This radiator only lasted about 7 months (long enough for the warranty to expire). The upper tank is made of such poor plastic that it collapsed around the radiator cap as the coolant flowed back and forth into the expansion tank. When I asked for a refund, the seller refused.

Pros
  • Brings joy
Cons
  • Some small change

No modifications needed

Bought to replace a leaking radiator that was 220,000 miles old and cracked at the seams. I was thinking about getting an aluminum heatsink but had to modify it to fit the mounting brackets, then I saw this one for about $10 cheaper and no modifications needed so I bought it and installed it in 10 minutes, am I spent $50 at best.

Pros
  • Good stuff
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Looks good, easy to assemble

Almost identical to the original except for the radiator cap. I had to use the supplied 0.9 bar instead of the old 1.1 bar. That drops it 3 psi from 16 to 13, but I think that's good enough for this small engine. The kit does not contain any screws for the fan, but inserts in the housing with which the fan is screwed. I took the opportunity to replace the transmission cooler lines and use new screw clamps on the radiator hoses. A little over a week later still fine.

Check the article first.

When I received the heatsink it looked a bit used. Based on the description I thought it was probably because each radiator is leak tested before shipping to the customer. I was a little upset that mine didn't come with a radiator cap. I contacted the seller and they sent it to me pretty quickly. However, the cap that was sent to me was too small. I didn't want to waste time sending it back. I tried bending it with pliers to make it fit but it didn't work. I ended up using my old cap which…

Direct fit for 1996 Honda Civic LX with automatic transmission.

I decided to replace the radiator because the original Honda radiator started leaking. It was a simple uninstall and install that took about 35 minutes. One check said the original Honda radiator cap didn't fit so I tried mine and it fitted perfectly - there was a new radiator cap in the radiator so it didn't matter. Here is a list of items I purchased to get the job done. Runs smoothly (and works on 1996-2000 Honda Civic LX with automatic transmission): Gates 21404 Gates Radiator Hose 22323…

Pros
  • High test results for hold and durability

  • Everything is fine

1997 Honda Civic LX with Perfect Fit Manual Transmission

Fits my Civic perfectly, although the manufacturer says it will not fit a manual transmission, the only difference is the fittings and passageways in the lower tank. Developed for cooling lines of automatic transmissions. Actual cooler size is the same for automatic and manual transmissions. As a mechanic I have found that most aftermarket manufacturers only make the style of car that fits and can be used in any application. Plus, for a mechanic, this Revain part was cheaper than my local parts

Overall quality is good but Honda brand radiator cap will not fit

I ordered this radiator to replace one of my 2000 Civic family members. The original factory radiator started to leak a little along the top seam of the tank. This radiator was well packaged with no damage in transit. A sticker on the radiator identified the country of origin as China. When I was installing the radiator, I noticed that the upper tank was hitting the bonnet sheet metal bracket and was not seated properly. I removed the radiator and found that the car had hit a curb or other…

Great cooler, best parts

This is a better and cheaper alternative to the only locally available brand 'Spectra'. Literally all parts stores only have this 1 type. Spectra Premium CU1290 which is listed as suitable for many Civic models including my 1999 Civic HX. However this WILL NOT FIT my civilian. Measured top to bottom, it is over 1/8 inch taller than Denso's factory cooler. As a result, the front right corner of the cooler does not fit under the frame. So I had no choice but to order it online (even from the…
