Enhanced Replacement Blower Assembly - TYC 700262 Review

The fan has been going on and off for a few months. It blows normally but slowly slows down until it squeaks and stops. This week he's gone forever. In the end it had to be replaced. It's exactly the same factory unit except the fan part has a cover over the brushes which I think is an improvement. There's a slight high-pitched hum at full power, but I didn't hear it when I put the kick panel back on. Installation was so easy I didn't have time to take photos.

I installed this a few weeks ago and it works great. It arrived quickly, the part fits my 2009 VW Touareg and works well. It seems to be quite durable and much cheaper than the original part from the dealer. This **might** be a little louder than the original fan, but my old ears don't pick up high-frequency noise like they used to, and it's certainly imperceptible unless you listen closely to it. I highly recommend changing the cabin air filter while working in this area.

I received this part quickly. I noticed that it's lighter than the OEM. I appreciated the change in weight when it came time to put the part in as it can be a little tricky to keep it in place while I worked to fit it properly. It seemed too big at first as the holes were misaligned, but after pulling it out and reinserting it a few times I was able to line up the holes and reinsert the screws. Product fits my 2009 Touareg 3.6L well but after installation it wouldn't start. I took it off and noticed that the contact tongues were pressed into the housing when the connector was inserted. They didn't seem to stay in place at all. With the styptic I was able to pull the blades out again. I then applied Loctite 5 Minute Quickset Epoxy to the base of the blades using a disposable syringe. After the epoxy had cured I was able to connect the connector without pushing the blades in. I received this item last week to replace a faulty fan on my 2007 Audi Q7. I took it out of the box and it looks pristine apart from a slight feeling of drag in the bearing when the blades are turned by hand. Works great for the price but the quality is not factory like. At 25% of the factory OEM fan I'm fine with a very thin sound that can only really be heard when the car is running, parked and the windows closed with the music off.
