Don't skip this!

One of the best crochet books I've found - so many great patterns. I usually only find one or two patterns that I want to make from a particular book - this one has at least 10 or more that I want to make! This is a thick book with LOTS of patterns and crochet patterns like reverse, tunisian and more. I highly recommend this book if you love to crochet and want to find something different than any other book!

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not sure

Not for the faint hearted!

The book contains great patterns and lots of new stitches to learn! Don't be fooled by the simple Afghani pattern on the cover - these are intricate patterns and it takes a little work to get them right! After starting and untangling the 'Vik' afghan panel a few times (more like an 8th), I settled on a lighter cabled afghan in the book to rebuild my grip. I am an avid knitter and have made many Afghan items; This is the perfect gift for any seasoned knitter looking for something new.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • No machine

Already made two blankets!

I made Exploded Pineapple and Smocked Elegance quilts from this book. I am new to crocheting and this book contains a variety of crochet blankets and techniques to help me grow as a knitter. The quilts range from heavy to lacy, striped to granny themed and have great tips for every project. I want to do Starburst Entrelac and Mission Cable quilts, but I'll have to wait until I have more time to devote to those projects. I recommend this book to both beginners and experienced knitters.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • A dubious purchase for the elderly
