Savior! Best in Computers & Accessories

Never had a problem with this. Saved the hard drive data from the PC with problems and uploaded the data again later. For that alone, the price is more than justified! There are no complaints about the speed here - the time seemed quite reasonable to me.

Doesn't work for me - Computer Accessories & Peripherals

I can't get this unit to read any of the 4 discs I've tried. All of them work fine when installed on a PC, but not with this article. You can hear the hard drive spinning, but the LED on the Unitek case is lit and they don't show up in the file manager.

Downloadable and Fast in Computers & Accessories

Use this to download ROC-RK3328-CC (Renegade) Runs on Mint Linux, Arnbian and Debian. Great for backing up old SATA drives (I only have SATA Gen 2 and up). It is backward compatible with USB 2.0. Used it yesterday on USB 2.0 to scan the widows drive for viruses. It's much better than my old drive adapter. No tangled disc cords or chance of a disc being knocked off. It also looks beautiful.

still reads sd cards and usb ports still work. but it won't spin up any hard drive inserted in it (I disabled it before installing the hard drive). It worked fine for about a year, then when you needed it most it stopped working.

It could be great.

I really wish you would like this device, but I don't recommend it for those who switch removable media frequently. I think with a few tweaks it could be great. BENEFITS The overall design and construction feels premium - even the included USB cable and power adapter. Speed tests are good (SATA/SD/USB), typically no more than 5MB/s loss compared to other devices. CONSS slowly scans drives every time you open Windows Explorer, even if they are not inserted. Bad SD slot alignment. It takes tooโ€ฆ

A good solution to old computer problems. External storage just got easier.

First impression? Thing feels pretty good. I mean it doesn't seem cheap just by holding it and looking at it. I was kinda expecting your typical cheap crunchy Chinese stuff but the plastic looks well made. The dock itself is actually hefty. It probably had a metal weight in it to give it that weight, but I have no complaints. It works the same as it does on my Windows 7 system. However, when I first inserted the SSD to test, the drive didn't show up. I had to turn the docking station off and on
