Heavy duty for sewing

I think this is a great thread holder. It's very durable and won't move on you. I put a shelf liner under the base to keep it from sliding, but it's heavy and won't fall off from machine vibration. He is very tall and holding up the thread. I think some of the negative reviews are because people don't know how to use the thread stand.

Poor Quality: Manufactured

Bought the plastic version with a solid shaft. Too light and unstable. I bought this version because of the metal base, but the two-piece wand doesn't fully curl. What a pity! There will likely be a "joint" that is glued to prevent the threads from dangling in the gap, but it's a shame they can't make a one-piece stem or a stem that is fully screwed together.

Good weighted BUT received broken 😳

Love the idea of showing this to friends for their sewing machine needs BUT the big metal thread loop on the machine wasn't a solid piece 😳 it was good EXCEPT when you rotated it , it just kept twisting and separating without unscrewing it😱 Yes, it broke💔 ☹️ Very pretty and heavy, a single piece wouldn't leave room for breakage😇

Great price, durable and well made.

Great price, works as described. I use this with large batches of Isacord thread on my home embroidery machine for free standing lace. I put it on a non-slip surface because the vibration of the module caused it to move, even though the base is cast iron. It is much more profitable to buy large coils. My first delivery was missing parts, but they were replaced within 2 days.

  • Best in niche
Cons
  • Nothing here

There are no instructions, the thread jams, not very strong

I have a similar thread holder from another brand. My mother wanted one for a Christmas present. The brand I own sold out so I went with this one. It's not as strong and thick as mine, it didn't have instructions and it takes too long to assemble. I highly recommend spending those extra few bucks on a brand name one. I was embarrassed to give that.

Pros
  • Excellent performance in general
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Excellent for the price

I was pleasantly surprised. My previous spool stand broke in the middle of a project and I ordered this one because it was cheap and shipped quickly. The cast iron base provides a good foundation and is generally durable. The build quality is mediocre, but quite sufficient. It's not an exact tool but it's 5* for the price and I'm very satisfied, no complaints. I use it with a sail rite machine for canvas and upholstery.

Pros
  • Crafts and sewing
Cons
  • Damaged

Defective but Revane replaced it.

This is poorly thought out. The filament holder stand protrudes beyond the bottom of the base in a secure position, causing the base to wobble. The two parts to be screwed together for the vertical thread guide are not screwed together. Despite the presence of threads, a part slips without thread contact. I tried to glue the two parts together but they are not stable. The base has no coating on the bottom to protect the sewing table. Confused as to why it got so many good reviews, UPDATE…

Pros
  • Sewing
Cons
  • I don't remember

The company was quick to respond and shipped me a new cone stand when I said the indentation at the base is smaller than the average cone causing the cone to wobble. The product photo shows a larger thread cone. The new replacement is no different. The stand holds a regular spool of thread and a smaller cone of embroidery thread upright and stable, but so does my machine. The only plus for me is that the stand holds larger cones than stated in the product description. I have included 2 photos…
