It takes quite a bit of force to squeeze the cover enough to disengage the sheet metal front of it from the clips. The 90+ CRI of these lights is great for making food look natural. They're pretty powerful; I used 8W sticks for a couple of 2' wide counters, and 14W sticks for 4' wide counters, and that was borderline too much light. Fixture was easy to open to get at the wires. Lots of options for knock-outs. We wired one fixture with a cord & plug, and several others were hard-wired to boxes that were installed for them. The 5000K light is nice; just what we wanted for task lighting. Fixtures were mounted under cabinets, and the light is even across the countertop with no shadows or dark spots. This is a well made, easy to install LED. The casing is steel. The light diffuser is, of course plastic. The device needs to be hard wired. No Plug. I do minor electrical and had to mount this to an existing light fixture. Used a 1/2" Romex connector to complete the path. I usually don't start a review with negative comments unless the product totally sucks. This LED light seems to be a pretty good light. However, unless you are a fair DYIer, this light might be a bit challenging. I expected the installation to be a lot easier. The instructions were poor at best. Couldn't find any videos. Wiring was easy as there were only 3 wires. The price was nice but, maybe this is one of those items where the saying "ya get what you pay for" fits? It wasn't super cheap, maybe $15 less then it's GE equivalent that I priced at Lowe's. The metal housing on this unit is flimsy to say the least. It arrived with large dents on each end of the unit poking outward. Purchased for under-cabinet lighting above the sink in our wet-bar. It is brighter than expected, which is an excellent thing. Color of the light is soft, no blue spectrum - excellent. It was very easy to install, totally straight-forward hard-wired replacement for the fluorescent one that was there previously. The switch is also a good size so it is easy to find without having to look.

I added three of these under our kitchen cabinets and we're very pleased with the results. However, one had been installed before as evidenced from the condition of the wires. It arrived with one corner damaged and a small amount of paint flaked off. The light went in fine, and works as intended. It is a good bit brighter than the previous light. The 5000K is really "white" and takes a little getting used to vs the soft white lights, but we are used to it now and like the color rendering. We may install a dimmer down the road, which will work with this light as it is dimmable.

I needed to find out the size of the Romex connectors so I could purchase an additional one and Richardo (customer service) was kind enough to mail me one.

I bought these lights to replace the halogens that I believe quit do to transformers. Replacement transformers are 1/2 the price of these LEDs if you can find the right ones. The new lights are fairly good quality. I installed them under the cabinets so it’s a little tough on the neck and back. I used the lowest brightness lights, but they shed a nice light for the countertop. A helpful hint. I bought two of these to replace florescent fixtures in a closet I am painting. I hooked one up to test it, and was pleasantly surprised by the brightness. I took one and replaced a florescent fixture over the kitchen sink. I have installed that one, and it's very nice. No 60Hz hum, and the LEDs are significantly brighter than the florescent tube I replaced.These are thin, a little more than beer can thick. Very nice lights and easy to hang. We replaced halogen lights that were hot and not that bright. These are bright, simple with an on off switch, and do not get hot at all. Saves money too!

Bought five lights to replace twenty year-old fluorescent fixtures. Once installed, these lights are great. They are much brighter than the old lights. However, there are some issues with the installation process. First, the directions are Spartan at best consisting of a few pictures and sparse "chinglish” text. This is a bright light, and suits the purpose for which I purchased it. The room is well illuminated now. Seems to be quality (feel, appearance, performance). So far I have been using it for 2 months with no problems.

These lights have 1 page of installation instructions; easy to read and understand. Replaced fluorescents lights under the kitchen cabinets with these. Don't go 4000K unless you want to install a dimmer switch. No switch needed for these. One thing to note, you have to use smaller knockout holes on case.
