Useful little tripod

I bought this tripod to provide a solid platform when calibrating gimbals. It proves to be very practical as a table tripod for small and light cameras and webcams. It also doubles as a grip for your camera. When folded, the tripod is seven inches long. When unfolded, it carries a light load up to a height of 15 cm. The legs fold out to provide a perfectly level platform for tasks such as supporting the gimbal during gimbal calibration. The materials appear to be of high quality and I expectโ€ฆ

Pretty decent legs in pro video accessories

Looks like sturdy metal tripod legs. Got my long selfie stick up. When closed, this offers a good grip, but the legs do not meet exactly flush. It's a bit out of the way and you have to fiddle with it. One of the legs is slightly looser than the others. I tightened the hex head but it did nothing. It's nice of them to turn on the hex key. So I loosened it a hair and now they all stretch and fold the same way with the same less tension. I'll update if I come across a broken screw as many do, but

  • Some trouble

I liked that the stand is all metal/aluminium. It feels sturdy and well constructed. I also liked that the legs fold almost flat, which lowers the center of gravity for more stability. They were also longer than most, which added extra stability. The only thing I didn't like was that the screw that acts as a tensioner for the legs was loose. When it came loose, the legs dangled until I could get my allen wrench to tighten it again. There is a lock washer but it was flattened and didn'tโ€ฆ

Great at any cost. Accessories

Great compact tripod. I've used it with a 5ft selfie stick and it's stable enough to hold my 360 camera. I didn't want to give up the tripod because 1) it's all aluminum and 2) the design is great so I tried fixing this little guy and in the end I decided I had to use a drill to drill the hole to make it bigger use 1/4 screw in it. Before I did that, I happened to see that the seller was updating the product due to a problem everyone is having. I contacted the seller to see if I could get theโ€ฆ

Get it while it lasts!

Received mine today well ahead of scheduled 7 day ground ship blah blah. He's really strong! The legs unfold smoothly and with little resistance typically found on high-end machines. The 1/4" "knob" on the bottom of your camera or V2 faucet used to be a problem and I see it's completely fixed now..:-) This thing is rock solid from the moment I screwed it to my camera with a twist, no tools, although there's a hex if the user prefers BUT REALLY this thing is tough, I swung and slammed my FZ1000โ€ฆ

Good product wrong Allen key

This is a well-designed selfie stick and gimbal stand. I use this stand for 3 different purposes: 30 inch selfie stick, 10ft 360 360X stick and my gimbal as the legs and hinges are well made aluminum with rubber feet. Each leg is approximately 6 3/8 inches long and provides wide support. Yes, it supports a 10ft carbon rod well on cement (hard ground) as long as you don't have a wind. This stand has a 1/4"/20 male threaded shank/bolt for attaching to your gear. You simply thread the legs ontoโ€ฆ

REVISED TO 1 STAR - (WHAT 5 STARS) My previous enthusiasm for this product is completely misplaced due to the poor quality of materials. In particular, the 1/2-20 tripod screw broke. WARNING: Many people and many online reviewers recommend using this tripod as a Zhiyun Crane Extension. This results in significant propeller torque, which eventually failed in my case. Luckily for me, the gimbal and camera didn't fall off. However, this error could easily lead to the loss of the camera, lensโ€ฆ

I bought an original tripod which, as many before me have complained about, the bolt broke. Luckily, I caught my Zhiyun V2 ($650), Lumix G7 ($500), and $350 Rokinon 10mm cinema lens in mid-air before it all crashed into the dirt I was standing in. I read some reviews and found that Pergear will replace broken original tripods with an improved version with a stronger screw for FREE. I contacted Pergear (cs@pergear.com) and shared my plight with them. They responded immediately and sent aโ€ฆ

Update: Cannot withstand long-term use

[updated 10/15/17] Satisfied), but the replacement was also issued. I have to conclude that they are cheap and given away for a reason. Today at the wedding I failed completely - I almost threw my faucet off the table. The 1/4-20 threaded fasteners are completely broken. It turns out that the mounting screw is hollow - the small hex screw that holds the legs to this tripod screws 'into' this screw from below - not the best design to support the weight of an IMO crane. I had high hopes for thisโ€ฆ
