Not suitable for Internet streaming

I have this device used for receiving H265 streams over the Internet. The quality of the stream will be lower than that of a VLC application running on the same connection (over the internet) at any bandwidth. It probably works better on a local network as other browsers seem to use it. I will contact the seller to see if there is a firmware update.

Pros
  • Multi-protocol support - Supports decoding of streaming protocols HTTP, RTSP, RTMP, SRT, HLS(M3U8), UDP, RTP, Multicast, Unitcast, FLV, etc.
Cons
  • Old model

Excellent technical support!

contacted tech support to make sure we have the latest firmware and they responded very quickly. This is a true 4K decoder that works great with our Axis 4K camera decoding an RTSP stream. Highly recommended.

The devices are not accompanied by user manuals or documentation, and the descriptions lack detailed information. Do you also seem to need to email the company to request firmware updates? As far as I can tell ALL decoders have a default static IP of 192.168.1.169 (encoder 192.168.1.168). I assumed they were on the 192.168.1.0/24 subnet and used an IP scanner to find them. If you connect the…
