I have used flash drives for important documents, photos and baby items. They're easy to use, the storage capacity is more than effective, and the price was great for what I spent.

Transfer rates hovered around 4MB/s, never hit 10MB/s, and were often below 1MB/s. This is slow speed USB 2 with the maximum speed being 60MB/s or 480MB/s. (Bits and bytes - eight bits = 1 byte, so 480 Mbit/s = 60 MB/s. Note that the uppercase "B" stands for bytes and the lowercase "b" stands for bits. Multiply the bits by eight, to get bytes.)

I bought these to make recovery disks and biostart disks for a couple of laptops. Haven't had to use laptop recovery yet, but they seem to have the correct files. My problem is that I tried to copy scans from HP Officejet Pre 6978 with my replacement and it didn't work. Tried to reformat. still no luck. I put in a different brand flash drive (same size) and everything worked without problems. So I'm a little concerned that my recovery discs might not be good enough.

The first flash drive I used from this multipack worked great: fast data transfer to copy my photos to a memory card. Unfortunately, the second (and third) failed during the recording process. Halfway through, the hard drives locked up and stopped accepting data. After I removed them from my computer, my system no longer recognized the drives. FYI I ordered this item on 16th August when it was supposed to be delivered on 20th August. This was changed on August 26th. Eventually it was shipped to the USPS Detroit Distribution Center. August 30th where it is now, two weeks after I placed the order. When I called the USPS, I received a recorded message that the pandemic had effectively halted mail delivery and thanked me for my patience. Rated 3/5 for the following reason... While I love the soft textures and colors of flash drives, my drives were running out of space. None of them live up to the advertised 32GB of storage, and each is 2-3GB short. Fresh out of the box, their specs say 16 KB used and 29 or 29.2 GB available. I know it's normal for drivers to automatically allocate a small amount of memory, which uses 16K, but the rest of the math doesn't add up. I'm still missing about 3GB per drive, no matter how that adds up.
