Good enough. - Temperature and Humidity Sensor

Stainless Steel Submersible Probe for $5. Has a slow response but looks pretty solid and is within 5 degrees when tested at freezing and boiling points. Suitable for non-critical process/cooking applications depending on your OCD level.

The wires at the end of the probe broke inside the stainless steel.

The wires at the end of the probe broke within the stainless steel braid. The braid or spring seat is not damaged, but communication with the thermocouple is now intermittent. It's not repairable.

Works well. We tested it with a calibrated thermometer and they showed the same thing. was concerned about thin wires but we reinforced the bends so this should work for a long time.

Unreliable - temperature and humidity

The device had a short from both wires to the chassis. Sometimes when he was resting he was within 10 degrees of room temperature, sometimes he was 30 degrees above room temperature only when lying on a bench (wood). Jiggle the cable and it jumps to 250 degrees, then 399 or some other random ridiculous temperature, sometimes it even approached zero degrees if the cable or probe was wiggling. Hold the dipstick in front of the fan and the temperature reads something random and ridiculous. Iโ€ฆ
