Vantec ICEBERQ Drive Cooler HDC 6015 Review

I had this unit before (of the same mold) but from a different manufacturer. I had two of these on my home theater PC and when I decided to add a third drive I needed another (with the intention of keeping the unit cool and quiet and extending system life). I have a Dell Studio XPS and the airflow is poor. Next time I'll build my own - Antec case, Asus board, etc. According to CrystalDisk, this Vantec hard drive cooler reduced the temperature of my hard drive significantly. Thanks for a great product. -- Grow[.]

I was skeptical as I'd never bought anything like this before but I had a Toshiba 10TB x300 that was expressing 53C daily under load. I was afraid it would blow hot air into my SSD, but it actually used it to cool the drive when it wasn't under load. Most of what I've seen is a 2 degree jump when installing FFXV. Reduces drive temperature to a much safer level and extends drive life. Requires additional space under the drive, which is not usually a problem.
