Quiet but could be more reliable

I bought one of these about 18 months ago to cool the voltage regulators in a tube preamp I'm building. With audio devices, the fan must of course be absolutely quiet. For the price, I'd say this is the quietest fan you can get; but I would like more durability. After about seven or eight months of use, averaging a few hours a day, it gradually started making more and more noise until it was as loud as a cheap regular fan. Around the same time, he began generating electrical noise that returned

I think the word "quiet " is subjective.

Too loud. This created a constant buzzing noise in my HTPC. It was annoying so I removed it. While I understand that smaller fans tend to make more noise, I think a product with the words "Stealth" and "Silent" in the name will be less audible. I could hear the fan in the middle of the movie and it was driving me crazy. I've had cheaper 40mm fans which I swear weren't that loud. Maybe my expectations were just too high, but I was looking for nothing more than a little more airflow in my case. I

Great reliable fan but noisy

First I have to say that I am very picky about the noise in my computer, so my standards are probably much higher than the average person. I needed replacement fans for my computer case after one of them failed. After a little research I decided on this fan. I liked the dual ball bearing design. I've used these fans before and they still work on a 10 year old computer. I replaced two Silenx Ixtrema Pro fans after one of them failed and I didn't realize how quiet the Silenx fans were. These…

We tried to use it as a top fan that sucks air. The problem is that the head of the mounting screws is 0.1mm within the actual size of the screw hole. So when you tighten the screws, they just fall off with the screws and nothing is holding the fan. Why not include 3 cents? Washers to prevent this? OR BETTER make the head of the mounting screws slightly larger in DIA than the HOLES they are attached to. Such a waste of effort, time, money and I will never get those 17-19 minutes back, EVER…

Fan and Cooling Rant Fans

The reason I bought these fans is for the dual ball bearings, not the apparent quietness. Some industrial grade ball bearing fans have (had) a reputation for being insanely loud and I think Vantec wanted to show that they are "quiet" in comparison. Have you ever heard of a 6000 RPM delta fan? These fans aren't as loud as the Delta hair dryers, but they're hardly quiet, and if that's important to you, these fans won't satisfy. Her subtle hum doesn't matter in my house since it already has the…
