Stick with Benriner

I had bought a Benriner slicer in 1978. The screws holding the blades were rusted and couldn't be removed or I could buy new blades. Tried another brand in between and gave it away. Went back to Benriner and it works great, even better than the old one. Buy this food slicer and you won't give it away.

Why did I wait so long to get one of these?!

I've heard about this slicer for many years and finally ordered it. It should never have taken me so long! I love this thing and can't believe how thin it cuts. You can literally see through the apple I sliced. Unlike other preset thickness slicers, it can be changed to any desired thickness. It takes a little getting used to, but worth it if you're a serious chef like me. If you eat a lot of vegetables, then this is for you!

I wish I had bought it ten years ago.

A mandolin in the kitchen changed my life. The tray is very comfortable, the blade is sharp and easy to adjust. Blades that mount vertically for cutting attach and detach easily, but don't seem to work very well, at least not for me. But I still love this thing very much. Update: 4.5 years later and I still use this thing a few times a week. I'll have to sharpen it soon. - I still never use Julian's blade.

  • Good thing

Bought to replace my mom's 10+ YEARS.

Nice to see the quality hasn't changed at all! These villains' blades are sharp and will stay sharp for years. This is Japanese quality! And this one comes with a tray for storing chopped veggies. The adjustment knob is now plastic but I totally understand that decision because the metal knob on my mom's old slicer has become rusty from years of use so I bought this new one. more blades with different grinding size. But it doesn't really matter! As with any other sharp tool, be careful with…

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Too long to wait

I bought this as a gift 2 Christmases ago and my parents still love it. Cuts very straight without cutting them. I did a lot of research on quality and safety and read many Amazon reviews before making my decision. It's also slimmer than other similar products and I also considered the compact design. My whole family likes to eat healthy and loves how quickly they can chop lots of vegetables for salads, rolls or soups. My dad uses this several times a week and after visiting and using them…

Very happy with my purchase

So far so good. I was very excited to get this mandolin out of the box and start using it. The different blades are easy to adjust and swap out, and most importantly, they cut veggies like a charm. I will be using it in my home kitchen and am excited to see how much time it will save me, although it seems it took me a lot longer than it actually did to get perfect, even slices and cubes. I grew up in a house where everything was cut by hand with a knife and I'm so lucky I learned how to use it…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Sparse instructions
