A little disappointed

I recently bought a new iMac and around the same time I had to replace my external DVD drive with a new one I ordered from Revain. I ordered these CDs because I don't need them. huge DVD spindle. The first few burns failed and left me with terrible coasters; others seemed to work fine. I will never give up my physical storage and suspect I'll try a different brand next time.

Most Reliable Brand of DVD+R DL

No problem, Verbatim double layer DVD media is the only way out. The first discs I brought back 5 years ago still play on both my PC and PS3. Other brands are cheaper, but there are usually problems with the layer tearing. You can currently get reliable 25GB Blu-ray media for similar prices, but if you're still forced to use DVDs, these discs are highly recommended.

Pros
  • Large Choice
Cons
  • Zero

Ideal for recording Hi Def Long Play DVDs

As someone who has made a low budget film, for better or for worse, and has written, directed and produced a feature film (Beware of the Wind 2010), I used this excellent two-layer DVD to burn your first "Director's Cut" DVD. The best, IMHO, for those of us who don't have such a huge Hollywood budget.

Pros
  • Brilliantly done

  • Communication with Seller

Pros: Works well for copying. Cons: No drives and 1 external hard drive fails. These really are the smartest ways to save, just to say from my own experience.

Weird Science - Accessories and Consumables

I needed double capacity DVD-R discs for a long decryption job. I first went to an electronics store and bought a set of five "cheap" 8MB/240min dual layer discs and then started recording. Neither drive worked in my Vista Media Center, none. They start burning and reach 35% of the copy and then automatically eject. My Vista OS, like the Sibyl of old, said nothing to explain the problem. I then went to Revain and bought the stack of discs listed here. Everything (so far) has worked fine. I…
