💻 VE.Bus to USB Interface by Victron Energy - MK3-USB Review

I bought these because I needed to reprogram my Victron 1.5k ohm inverter/charger with my new lithium batteries. It's just a few clicks and very simple, but this feature should have been in Multiplus from the start. Having to buy an extra device is just a robbery.

I have a Victron 12/3000 Multiplus, why isn't the programming interface simply built into the system? While it's not expensive and seems to work, I'd like a smarter inverter. So this little guy makes up for the lack of an onboard interface to access inverter setup and updates.

Works as expected. I'd like to see them bundled with the inverter as it seems a little ridiculous to buy an add-on just to program the device. Victron makes quality products at a premium price and they don't have to pay you nickels and dollars for accessories that cost next to nothing to make and are required to use the product.

Two stars because it was supposed to BE BUILT INTO my $1200 Victron inverter. It's ridiculous that I have to buy an accessory to keep my new inverter from destroying my new batteries. AT LEAST make the DIP switches programmable to the same extent. People don't like being trapped in buying BS accessories that shouldn't even be needed.

The VictronConnect app on my phone did not allow me to update the firmware on the Multiplus 3000 inverter/charger VictronConnect app on my laptop to complete the update . This adapter allowed me to use an RJ-45 cable and software to easily connect to the Multiples 3000 directly via USB on my computer. I was able to install the inverter/charger to my battery specifications. The downside to this was that this adapter comes without instructions so I had to go directly to Victron to download the…

Works like a charm, but yes it's expensive. The device creates a virtual serial port so you can use VE Configure and other Victron utilities. Advice! Connect your USB converter to your mobile phone and you can do ALL settings for all devices on your phone. And easier! The setup programs on phones are much better than on PCs. Especially for firmware updates.
